Visited Brew in Lancaster yesterday after hearing good reviews, sadly our experience fell far short of the basic principals of good customer service! We waited outside to be seated as explained on the door due to Covid. The assistant then came to ask if we wished to eat in or out; we requested ‘in’. We were informed that only outside tables were currently available under a canopy at the back of the premises; it was heavy with rain but we accepted to be seated. We were given menus but were sat outside for almost 10 minutes watching people leave the cafe and tables indoors become available. As we’d still not been attended to and nor our order taken, my friend went to ask if we could have the table indoors but unfortunately the assistant had totally disregarded us and given us no further thought and had already answered the door and shown someone else the table that had become available. Not deserving of our custom we left and got fantastic welcoming service from Atkinson’s. Highly recommend their venue, mocha and amazing bakes.

On the whole really poor core principals of basic hospitality and customer service from BREW. Don’t rest on...

Fancy a brew?? Of course you do and when I stumbled across this little gem I was not disappointed...

I'm a real lover of quirky little coffee shops that serve good food with a lush chilled vibe and this place does that.

Quite a new business and in their experimental phase of what works and what doesn't but with a choice of "Eggs Benny" which is their take on the classic eggs Benedict, consist of HOMEMADE savoury waffle topped with hollandaise sauce and poached eggs as standard, then your choice of spinach, salmon or bacon (I think). I had mine with spinach... all I can say is that the waffle was perfect, the hollandaise was the perfect consistency and obviously the spinach, well I didn't leave quite like Popeye, but was good too.... 😁😁

I'm a drinker of black coffee so my options are limited, the coffee is good and they do also experiment with different types of filter coffee. From what I see their tea collection is good also and a friend of mine had the hot chocolate which was spot on.

I've become a regular visitor to this place and I'm made to feel welcome and a part of the vibe...

Brew – A Lancaster Gem for Coffee & Brunch

From the moment you step into Brew on Brock Street, you're greeted by a warm, friendly atmosphere and that unmistakable aroma of expertly brewed coffee.

But what truly stole the show during my visit was the Eggs Benedict with crispy bacon. Each component felt thoughtfully curated the Focaccia bread baked just right, the eggs poached to silky perfection, and the hollandaise exquisitely smooth. The bacon was the star: beautifully crisped, adding a delightful crunch and smoky flavour that elevated each bite.

Final Verdict: Brew is a must‑visit for anyone in Lancaster seeking top‑quality brunch. Their Eggs Benedict with crunchy bacon is a revelation—flawlessly executed and utterly satisfying. Add that to superb coffee and a welcoming atmosphere, and you've got a breakfast/brunch experience you’ll want on...

Sunshine on a plate? 🌞 Brew never fails me to cheer me up, winter or summer. For starters, it serves outstanding flat whites and amazing food prepared with good quality locally sourced ingredients. Not tried the à la carte menu yet because I can't get enough of the fresh and ready to be toasted sandwiches and their signature touch: the homemade piccalilli. I don't know where exactly they source their bread, ham and cheese but it's just out of this world. The icing on the cake: the sunny courtyard at the back, with climbing flowers and growing kale. Make sure to check out the mood brightening fresque by Harry Clayton Mills on your way to the courtyard and have room for the divine banana cake! Last but not least, this place is the reason why I have yellow curtains in my lounge. I have nothing but love for this place 🤗😍

This is, without a doubt, my favourite café in Lancaster. Luiza and her crew have created something magical here. It's always a pleasure to visit, as soon as you step inside, you're met with a warm welcome and a strong sense of community. The coffee is made with love and care - strong, aromatic and served in a pretty little cup of sunshine yellow. It's the perfect place to catch up with friends, share stories, and make plans for the weekend. In addition to the great coffee, there is a sweet selection of tasty treats that will brighten up your day. There is also a top-notch range of breakfast and lunch options. My personal favourite is the Avocado Toast seasoned with Egyptian spices. If you're visiting Lancaster, be sure to stop by Brew café and experience the magic for yourself.
