Fortune Star — Restaurant in Lancaster

Decidedly average to poor. We called in during the recent music festival in Lancaster. Staff were friendly, however the food was poor. Between two of us we had a total of three medium glasses of wine, a shared chicken and lettuce starter, one (very bland and salty) chicken fried rice, a sweet and sour chicken and one accompanying fried rice side dish and the bill was a steep £42. This was very poor value considering we had to assemble our own starter and the fried rice dishes were too salty to eat. The sweet and sour was extremely sweet and vinegary. I have not been here in years so decided to try it for a take out as our usual was on hols.

Have to say it was massively disappointing and the worst I have had in a long time. How disappointing the one takeout we have a month was this.

I’m not one for leaving food but the salt and pepper chips were inedible to me, soggy and uncooked. The sweet and sour chicken had only onions in as veg and the rice was bland.

The only plus side was the lovely lady who gave us the meal on pick up. She was happy and served with a smile.

I had the worst Chinese food ever here. I have never tasted anything like this , and hope I never do again. (Singapore noodles) -No flavour whatsoever apart from stale oil.Tasted as if there was no garlic, ginger and especially chilli. Had to drench in soy sauce to be able to eat it.The noodles were under cooked and the lumps of meat cold. It looked as though it had been thrown together with no cooking process.
