Me, my Fiance, mother in law & partner went for a meal here tonight. Absolutely disappointed with the customer service - never had a problem here before in the past. We ordered our drinks which we waited 30 minutes for - they came and were totally wrong. We told the waitress and she said she will deal with it - however we waited again for a further 10 minutes and had to ask again. Our food came after another long wait and us asking where the food was - the manager told us we told them our table number was wrong when the lady who seated us told us we were table 13 - which it was. Again, not our fault.3 of us asked for a bbq chicken burger meal.. it was not bbq it was a really spicy reggae sauce ( I don't do spice at all ) and told the manager it wasn't what we asked for - he then told us they don't do bbq even though it was black and white on the menu "BBQ sauce" ... he did deal with it right away, brought it back to us and had just squirted some bbq sauce on - by this point i couldn't be bothered to argue again and just ate it. During all this - a family next to us, their little boy accidently spilt their drink it went all over the floor - they asked for someone to clean it up and the lady replied with " I will have to see if someone is free" it was a major slip hazard! Nobody had came to clean it up and it was left a big puddle around my fiances chair & all over the floor behind us. In my eyes she should have told the manager right away for it to be cleaned up before someone slipped and hurt themselves , but the whole time we were there nobody came to clean it up. The staff themselves were just walking through it and ignoring it. 3 other people were moaning about waiting for their meals and drinks, one family waited that long for pudding and asked 2ce about it ended up just walking out without one in the end. The response was " were really busy" which it totally understandable however there is still no excuse to speak to customers with respect and we are paying for a meal and service that didn't reach our expectations!!! We certainly won't be returning and it ruined our meal out.
I must say - my partners mum and partner enjoyed their food when it came - and the poor waitress who was rushed off her feet trying to sort our orders out we felt very sorry for and tried her best giving the circumstances. It was just very poor customer service and the wait on just drinks was ridiculous!!! You could tell the staff were fed up by their facial expressions and bluntness. The new set up for ordering food and the eat out to help out should be a lot easier and a way to bring in new custom - but here it's doing the total opposite. I'm never the one for writing reviews but we were very unhappy...
Read moreWe visited morecambe this weekend with our friends as part of a camping trip to silverdale. We went up early to escape the bank holiday traffic and stopped off for a drink in the pub. It was a welcoming atmosphere and we felt immediately welcomed, kids and dogs in tow.
We got chatting to the Manager, Chris. He was very chatty, had a laugh with us and provided a welcoming manner. Fast forward 2 days later we got a storm and headed back over to morcambe to take the kids to a trampoline park. We rung Chris and let him know we were back in the area and asked could he accommodate our party of 30. He moved some things around and we managed to get a part of the pub cornered off for dinner.
When we arrived Chris welcomed us and the kids with glow sticks (which i thought was a lovely touch) we all ordered food and i instantly thought we’d be waiting ages given the amount of us. But within 30 mins we’d all gotten our meals, piping hot and delicious. Kids desserts too!
our visit was lovely, Chris made it for us and i wouldn’t hesitate returning.
Given Chris puts his all into the pub and clearly has his customers at the heart of everything he does, I would say brewery should give the pub needs some to attention, as a reward for him!! the walls had damp and mould in some places and the toilets could also do with some attention. these little changes will really make the pub...
Read moreWent for the festive meal with a group of friends 2 years ago and loved it so booked again this year but sadly to say we won't go again. The only part of the meal that was ok was the prawn cocktail. One person had soup and it was the smallest amount in the bowl, it was ridiculous. Most of us had the turkey dinner. The veg was the frozen type, it was barely cooked, most of the Yorkshire puddings were burnt, I couldn't eat hardly any of it, the turkey was so salty, one person had a parsnip that she couldn't even cut it. We all complained about the meal, was told we would get £2 each refunded. Then dessert arrived, majority of us had Christmas pudding, it was a rectangular thin piece on the plate, when we tried to cut it we were shocked, it was like leather, I took one little piece and ate it, it was awful, didn't even taste like it should. I left it all. When they came to collect the plates I was asked it I'd finished, I said it was inedible. We were all disgusted with the evening to be honest, service very slow too. Its not as if the place was busy because it wasn't. At one point you couldn't see any staff anywhere, not even behind the bar. Plus no one came to ask if we wanted a coffee, last time we went for the festive meal we got mince pies and were asked if we would like a coffee, but no one bothered. So I'm sorry we won't be going...
