Awesome food!! Awesome staff!! After freezing at the local football match we decided to go on the advice of the good reviews on here and wasn't disappointed... The surroundings are very drab and run down but this place is a diamond in the rough, the lady behind the bar was very friendly and sat us in a little booth downstairs and made us feel at home, we were served in good time although the place was quite empty as it was Sunday late afternoon and the weather baltic. We ordered the fish and chips, garlic bread with cheese and the garlic mushrooms from the main menu and the peppercorn chicken from the specials board, the food arrived in good time and was presented well. Everything we had ordered was cooked to perfection and was more than you'd expect from a seaside pub, proper chunky homemade chips were top notch and the mushrooms were banging!! Fish was the best i have had and fell apart in big chunks, all in all it was fantastic... If you visit Morecambe and are looking for some proper food then give your head a wobble and drive past the toby carvery and the like and pop in here, would highly...
Read moreFirst time Trying The Mad Hunter South African Restaurant up above the Palatine Public House. Took my Husband for his birthday and I was not disappointed, beautiful and tasty spring rolls, smoked mussels infused in chilli for starters. I opted for the surf & Turf 5oz steak with an abundance of shelled Prawns. Hubby had a Lamb dish which was served on bread all very flavoursome. Just a little thing, it would have been nice to have had some warm water to wash fingers after peeling the Prawns but managed without. If you want something different then try here. Service Excellent very attentive and they added a little Birthday Touch at the end...

Portions are massive kids could have easily shared but don’t see that as a bad thing. Pint of beer £4 which again can’t be complained about. Would definitely recommend and would visit again Thank...
