Was asked what spice level we wanted, we opted for medium spiced. Dahi puri was completely lacking flavour. Bhel puri was soft and dry not crunchy and lacked sauces and flavour. Mango lassi tasted like pre-made mango lassi and therefore quite mediocre. My salted lassi was completely forgotten about and when I queried this with the waitress wearing glasses after we’d finished our starters, she didn’t admit the fact that they’d forgotten about it and instead she said “you ordered a salted lassi right, it’s coming with the main course” when it was incredibly obvious that it had been forgotten about as the mango lassi had arrived before the starters (as expected). I would have appreciated honesty/an apology, neither of which were provided. When the salted lassi finally arrived it was lacking flavour from spices other than salt and should have been more runny/not as thick. The chilli paneer was nice but arrived as a starter instead of a main because the waitress hadn’t bothered to check the order of food with me at the time of ordering. The dal makhani tasted like microwaved dal. The garlic naan and the chilli cheese garlic naan were probably the highlight of the entire meal as they tasted freshly made. RED FLAGS: The waitress wearing glasses took out the restaurant bins and placed them inside the large bins outside which get collected by the council. She came back inside, did not wash her hands at any point and proceeded to hand us plates of food. There were flies flying around the restaurant and the loo was grotty. This place should lose its food hygiene rating! The service was terrible as described above but made atrocious by the fact that when I asked for another carrier bag to pack my leftovers in because I had spilled some food on the first carrier bag I had been given; the waitress wearing glasses took the first carrier bag back, went over to the other waitress and showed her the carrier bag, furiously gesturing at the bag and complaining about me saying how I had wanted another carrier bag because I had told her I had spilled dal on the bag but that she couldn’t see any dal on the bag. She then shoved the carrier bag back with the rest of the new carrier bags and in all likelihood handed me back the same carrier bag. With appalling service like that, there should be no service charge added to the bill at all. The starters were priced 15-20% higher than similar standard restaurants. The mains were priced over 30% higher than...

My best friend and I were kindly invited one Sunday afternoon for lunch (All lunch menu items 12-3pm daily are under £10 with decent portion sizes), and we thoroughly enjoyed;
Lamb Chops – these were delicious. I’ve started to become accustomed to getting lamb chops to start at an Indian restaurant!
Chicken 65 Chaat; Battered fried chicken tossed in a tangy spice & mint sauce – this was lovely but very filling! Lots of sauce and chickpeas.
Thali (lunch only); Chef’s Special Curry of the Day (I believe it was chicken tikka massala for mine), Dal, Veg Curry, Rice, Bead, Raita, Papad & Sweet – This was a fantastic choice and real chance to try different flavours, all of which were beautiful.
Chilli Paneer with Rice & Honey Chilli Chips – watch out for the spice on this one, very hot indeed, but very flavoursome and delicious
Shahi Tukda (brioche bread pudding soaked in saffron milk served cold) – a strange one at first, I didn’t expect it to be cold. There is a slight rose flavour to this too. It was moreish in the end!
Cocktails – Margarita & Delhi Ka Banta Masala Flavour

Read moreWe recently visited Delhiwalafood at Leeds and had an amazing dining experience. We tried their Nawabi Murg Korma, Golgappa, and a mocktail named Sunrise, and all were fantastic!
First, the Nawabi Murg Korma was a real treat. From the moment it arrived at our table, we could tell it was going to be something special. The korma smelled amazing with its rich blend of spices. The chicken pieces were perfectly cooked, super tender, and soaked in a creamy, flavorful gravy. The sauce had just the right amount of spice—not too hot, but enough to make it interesting. The balance of flavors was spot on, and the almonds and fresh coriander on top added a nice touch. We paired the korma with some fresh butter naan, and it was a great combination. The naan was soft and perfect for scooping up the sauce.
We also tried the Golgappa, and it was delightful. The crispy, hollow puris filled with tangy tamarind water and a mix of spices were incredibly refreshing. Each bite was a burst of flavors and textures that were both exciting and satisfying. The Golgappa was a fun and delicious way to start our meal, and it really set the tone for the rest of our dining experience.
To complement our meal, we ordered a mocktail called Sunrise. It was refreshing and beautifully presented with layers of vibrant colors. The mix of citrus and tropical flavors was perfect, not too sweet, and very refreshing. It was a great way to cleanse our palate between bites and add a nice touch to the overall experience.
The service at Delhiwala Food was great too. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed.
Overall, the Nawabi Murg Korma, Golgappa, and Sunrise mocktail were highlights of our meal. If you’re looking for delicious, well-made Indian dishes and refreshing drinks, I highly recommend giving them a try. We’ll definitely be coming...
