Poor service. Lack of organization. Rude and inexperienced staff. Staff don’t know the difference between a porterhouse and a t bone. Lack of atmosphere. Nothing like manchester. Won’t last 2 minutes in Leeds. Full details below:

Starters - no bread brought out with 2 portions of hummus. Had to ask for it, then they brought out one bread basket for one hummus and again we had to ask for the second basket again.

Mains - Birthday boy ordered the etci special steak for the show. They couldn’t have the cart anywhere near our table because there was an air con unit situated above our table.

Before they started the show we let them know we are not happy about how far away from us they are.

Bald manager comes over and starts being rude asking us if we are just trying to find problems.

First steak comes out - which was a t bone but the waiter was adamant it was a porter house. He took it back to the kitchen a few times then came back out and said the same steak was a t bone.

In the meanwhile the rib eye he brought out with the t bone steak was cold.

Then one of the manager guys came out and spoke to us and said the waiter was new and it was his first day. To which we responded it’s not acceptable, staff should be trained properly before serving customers.

Then we had to wait while they brought the rest of the food out in drabs and drabs. We had to ask for the other bits we ordered like chips etc.

Overall the food was cold and not enjoyable. The attitude of the staff made it very uncomfortable too.

After this we swiftly requested the bill as we didn’t want to stay for dessert.

The staff then went and brought a complimentary dessert with fireworks etc which we didn’t want and sent back. At this point our evening was ruined as was my best friends birthday celebration.

We asked for the bill, which had no deductions for the inconvenience/cold food/poor service.

As we went out to pay at the door the girl asked if we enjoyed the meal (to my surprise).

Overall I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant. The atmosphere is nothing like the manchester one. We could have gone to many other better steak houses in the area with better food, service...

We visited Etci Mehmet in October, but unfortunately, the experience left us disappointed.

From the start, the host's attitude was underwhelming. When I approached her, she barely acknowledged me and didn’t even check the birthday surprise dessert request I’d included in my booking. I was initially seated at a two-person table while waiting for my guest, however, about 10 minutes later, I was asked to move because the table had apparently been booked for someone else even though I clearly had a reservation. I didn’t make a fuss and was relocated to another two-person table, but the whole situation felt dismissive, as though they probably assumed I was dining solo and wouldn’t spend much.

When my guest arrived, we ordered starters: the beef sushi and beef tacos. The beef sushi was quite good, but the tacos were messy and lacked flavor. For mains, we had the gold giant meatballs and a gold-coated steak (either Dallas or New York). While the meatballs were hot and decent, the other steak was lukewarm by the time we started eating, which was disappointing for what’s supposed to be freshly cooked steak making it clear it had been sitting for a while before being served. Unfortunately, we didn’t mention it to the waiter as we were on a tight schedule and didn’t have time to wait for a replacement.

We also ordered three mocktails, which turned out to be the highlight of the meal- delicious and refreshing.

As for the birthday dessert surprise I had requested 3 times (once during booking once while seated and again with the waiter after the meal finished), it was completely overlooked. About 20 minutes after finishing our meal, another waiter came to ask if we wanted dessert. At this point, the special moment I’d planned was ruined, so we declined and settled the bill.

Overall, the service fell far below expectations, especially for a place with such high prices. The poor handling of the booking, lukewarm steak, and missed birthday surprise left us disappointed. However the food...

I recently had an absolutely fantastic time at Etci Leeds for a birthday dinner, and it was truly an unforgettable experience! The hospitality and kindness shown by the staff were nothing short of exceptional, making the evening even more special and memorable. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere that set the perfect tone for our celebration.

The food was absolutely delicious, with each dish showcasing a delightful blend of flavours and textures that left us craving more. A special shout-out to Hani and Viat—they were incredibly accommodating and ensured an unforgettable experience for the two celebrants we had. Their attention to detail, from the personalised touches to the thoughtful recommendations, made all the difference and added a personal touch to our evening.

The ambiance of Etci Leeds is also worth mentioning. The elegant decor and cozy atmosphere created a perfect setting for a special occasion. The music was at the right volume, allowing us to enjoy our conversations without any distractions.
