I recently visited House of Fu for lunch, and I must say, the experience exceeded all expectations. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and vibrant, creating a warm and inviting vibe that instantly put us at ease. The interior is modern yet cozy, with thoughtful décor that perfectly complements the restaurant's upbeat energy. We were promptly seated, and the service was excellent right from the start. The staff were attentive, friendly, and eager to assist, but I have to give a special mention to Joony, who went above and beyond to make our dining experience memorable. His positive attitude and helpful nature really stood out. He patiently answered all our questions about the menu and even gave us great recommendations on what dishes to try. Joony's attention to detail and enthusiasm truly made our day and contributed significantly to the overall enjoyment of the meal. As for the food, it was nothing short of exceptional. We tried a variety of dishes, and each one was cooked to perfection. The flavors were bold, fresh, and well-balanced, with each dish offering something unique. Whether you're a fan of traditional favorites or looking to explore something new, the menu has plenty of options that cater to all tastes. We were especially impressed with the presentation of the food, as every dish was beautifully plated, adding a touch of elegance to the dining experience. One thing that stood out to me was how quickly our food was served despite the restaurant being fairly busy at the time. Everything arrived hot and fresh, and it was clear that a lot of care had gone into both the preparation and presentation. The cleanliness of the restaurant was also noteworthy. It's always reassuring to dine at a place where hygiene is clearly a top priority, and House of Fu certainly delivered in that regard. All in all, House of Fu provided an outstanding dining experience from start to finish. The combination of delicious food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere makes this a must-visit spot. I will definitely be returning soon and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fantastic meal in a great setting.

Walked past on a Saturday around 1pm and it seemed to be queuing out the door! So we decided to walk around a bit until 2pm and tried again. No more queue but they still couldn’t seat us - we decided to book for 45 mins later and come back. It was only about 5-10 minutes after our booking time before we got seated. The table was a bit wobbly but our waitress was accommodating by providing a little sticky pad to offset the table. The food came pretty quick after ordering. - The kimchi flavour was nice; however could have had larger lettuce pieces. You could tell it was more the mass-produced kimchi. - The gyoza was standard fare, a little on the small side but they had ‘wings’ which was pleasant to see. - Cucumber salad was surprisingly provided in cucumber chunks rather than the sliced ribbons. The flavour was good though with the sesame oil, chili flakes and nori. - The Korean fried chicken tsukemen was delightful, with plenty of flavour. The fried chicken was crispy and sweet and offset with the spicy mess of the accompanying kimchi. - Katsu chicken curry was ok, provided in a dish rather than a bowl, which made eating with chopsticks a little tougher than normal - recommend to use a fork or spoon for this! We finished off with some desserts and they rounded the meal off quite nicely. The matcha cheesecake didn’t have much in the way of matcha flavour; but it was nice and creamy. It’s a bit on the pricey side considering the sizes of the small dishes you can get but the dishes are a unique fusion of Japanese and Korean cuisine with a nice kitchen-style interior design within the restaurant. There’s plenty of branding and even T-shirts available, showing off their cross country franchise status. Would recommend if you like your Asian fusion and also traditional Asian dishes!

House of Fu didn’t explode onto the Leeds food scene—it crept onto it like a stealthy ninja. And honestly, that feels pretty fitting. From the sleek Japanese-inspired decor to the tucked-away cocktail bars, this place is all about understated cool. It doesn’t shout for attention; it lets you discover its charm like some kind of urban explorer. When I arrived, the place was buzzing—packed to the rafters with a hipster crowd that seemed to have rolled straight out of a vintage thrift store. The vibe was casual and fun, and I couldn’t help but notice one hilarious detail: literally every single person in the kitchen was rocking a snapback. Imagine walking into the Vans store and finding out that they've given up on trainers and now they're slinging Gyoza. Now, I’ll admit it—I made a rookie mistake. I lowered my expectations, assuming it might just be another Instagram-friendly spot with mediocre food. Big mistake. Huge. The dishes here don’t just talk the talk—they’re walking too! Fresh, bold flavors smacked me right in the taste buds, and the quality was undeniable. From the rich pork broth to the crispy cauliflower, every bite delivered far more than I’d anticipated. And the kicker? The prices. For food this good, you’d expect your wallet to take a hit, but no—it’s surprisingly reasonable. That said, I’d love to see them push the spice game a little further. Their “spicy” ramen was tame, and I found myself craving something with a real fiery kick. Maybe a challengingly spicy ramen to separate the bold from the brave? In short: House of Fu is a stealthy hit that doesn’t need to shout to make its mark. Highly recommended—and I’ll be back with a sweat towel if they take my spicy challenge seriously.

Went to House of Fu on Wednesday night to see if there were any karaoke booths free - I’ve been before on Wednesdays and you can get student discount on karaoke which is great value! Was met by a friendly male staff member who said he only dealt with restaurant bookings and passed us to his female colleague. I politely and cheerfully asked if there were any karaoke rooms free that evening, to which she (somewhat coldly) said there were. I then asked if it was still student discount on Wednesdays and I was told “Well only if you’ve got a student card”. I replied that I had a valid uni days account as proof as I hadn’t got my university lanyard with me and she loudly quipped something to the effect of “erm No I’m not prepared to accept that” and glared at me with what seemed to be actual disgust. (Yes I’m just as shocked as you) Truly Disappointed and unsure as to why the staff member felt the need to be so rude about the matter, especially something so trivial! Absolutely Fine if you don’t accept unidays but you cannot actually have an account with unidays without having valid university credentials! I also don’t know many students who carry around their physical university lanyard with them everywhere, not to mention the fact that last time I came for karaoke the staff member that booked me in accepted my uni days account as proof that I am indeed a student. Even if it is your policy, I respect that, but maybe some lessons in manners and general customer service as I have never felt so unwanted as a paying customer! Had the staff member been even a little more personable and maybe smiled once I wouldn’t have minded paying full price for karaoke as I was looking forward to it, but the way I was treated was very poor and in front of all of the seated customers who witnessed it I felt embarrassed and left the restaurant disappointed....
