Grilleria — Restaurant in Leeds

After 8 weeks of quaretine I decide to treat my self to a takeaway, grilleria would be my choice. The small number of reviews they had seemed good so I though I would give them a try. However to say I was a little disheartened would be an understatement.

When the order finally arrived 40 minutes late the delivery boy was stood holding my order with his bare hands which were clearly covered in oil or paint? And not leaving at the door step like instructed via uber eats. I would expect gloves as a minimum due to the current circumstances, but giving them a wash every once in a while would be a start.

The food itself was tepid at best,and rather bland. Not what I was hoping for. I suggest you guys look up on a procedure known as "seasoning". Overall the food was akin to a very "bog standard" takeaway. with the additional price tag and an extra hours wait. Poor quality ingredients and a serious lack of effort.

The milkshake however was very nice and still cold (once I had disinfected the cup it was in.

Would love to be giving a review of the food, however it never arrived. After 1.5hrs we called and asked if it was on its way, to which we were told it had been delivered. Now we do have a house that is set back from the road, but I left clear delivery instructions and my phone number if it couldn’t be found. The incredibly rude person on the phone angrily accused us of lying that we didn’t have our food (if he had just thought for more than a second he’d realise this makes no sense) even though when we explained where our house was he spoke to the delivery driver in the background who we heard confirm that he had taken it to the wrong house. Instead of apologising, offering to refund or send the food to where it should have been delivered, he swore and shouted at us and hung up. Luckily we had ordered via uber (restaurant delivers own food though) so a support person was able to fully refund us after trying and failing to reach the restaurant. Update a year since first review: every order, still great every time. I’m never even close to having something to complain about. I get a whole chicken and a portion of chips every time and it’s a winner.

Chicken and chips doesn’t get better really. The desserts are a bonus. I could go on but it’s honestly best to just order and figure out for yourself. I’m really glad to have moved nearby as this place can be a bit of a lifesaver.
