Embarrassing bad food and service. We should have realised it wasn't going to be a good experience when the person at the counter seemed completely uninterested in taking our order but we unwisely persevered.
We ordered 4 meals at the same time and were told it would be ten minutes, which was fine. The first 2 meals came out after 15 minutes and were stone cold except for the microwaved beans. The "toast" was a slice of bread that had been shown some warmth and gone a little stale. No butter. No sauces or condiments. When we did ask for butter it was rancid and seemed to have been microwaved in the packet. Very odd.
Then we waited another 5 minutes for the jacket potato to come out. It looked like it had been dropped from a great height onto the plate. It was hot and tasted OK though.
We then waited another ten minutes for the final meal to come out. This again was stone cold. Bacon was so overcooked and dry it just fell apart. Both eggs were more like scrambled egg than a fried egg. The sausages have the absolutely minimum meat content legally allowed. They did at least manage to toast the bread for this one.
The coffee was OK. Do NOT...
Read moreIncredibly rude staff. Ordering coffee felt like an inconvenience or like I was interrupting a chat. I then asked if a cake had soy in it due to milk and soy allergy and I was met with 'well it's vegan so probably yeah' and a very condescending tone, no effort to check the ingredients or suggest alternatives.
I then went to change my baby, same waitress pointed out where the facility was (same poor attitude) and the changing table is in the hallway with no door for privacy (looks like it's fallen off) so you're just there changing your baby's bum in front of tables of people having lunch and coffee. Nice. Won't be back. Wouldn't recommend.
No stars for food as I didn't have the...
Read moreI recently visited Haus of Coffee in Horsforth, Leeds, and I was blown away by the quality of the mocha and the deliciousness of the cinnamon roll (£6.85). I had a takeaway mocha three years ago, and I was happy to see that the quality of the coffee has remained consistently excellent. The mocha was rich and flavorful, with a smooth, velvety texture. The cinnamon roll was perfectly sized and had a soft, fluffy texture. The frosting was sweet and gooey, and the cinnamon was perfectly spiced. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting.
I highly recommend Haus of Coffee to anyone looking for a great cup of coffee and a...
