As cool as a frozen artisan Dutch oven. Kapow has a vibe like no other, if you were to exclude comic stores. Its staff are first class baristas. I was lucky enough to bear witness to the craft of latte art while I waited. The attention to detail the barista displayed, even for a perfectionist like me, made me grin like a cat that got the cream. Kapow coffee is situated in an arcade, much like my favourite Brum coffee shop Faculty. It has 3 floors, well 2 if you exclude the barbers on the top floor. It sells quality merchandise. It serves awesome, artisanal coffee. It… needs coffee enthusiasts like you to go check it out. Trust me when I say, it’s more super than Superman’s socks.

What a find, such a quirky but relaxed little place in a lovely archade, the extra seating upstairs is a huge bonus. We're very hard to please when it comes to coffee it seems so it was a breath of fresh air to find somewhere doing it right! I had a decaf latte, my partner a decaf oat flat white. They were both spot on - my latte had an excellent taste, not too hot so the milk hadn't lost its sweetness, perfect texture (not too frothy or too thin) and it was strong rather than week and milky! Orange and pistachio brownie was delicious too. Totally would recommend if you're looking for a decent coffee.

lovely lil coffeeshop tucked in thornton’s arcade. flat white was smooth enough. tried a sweet snacks which name i forgot. there was a small q when i was there but seats available. they’ve got a toilet upstairs. more seating upstairs as well. staffs were nice and welcoming. bought v60 paper filter here. they’ve got interesting selection of beans. there was a sign on the front door that this coffee shop is no-laptop zone, unlike the other kapow on the call lane near the river. however i like the experience better in this outlet. would def revisit this one next time

If you're a coffee person in Leeds, then you probably know Kapow. If you're looking for coffee in Leeds, then you should visit Kapow.

The team here always have a top retail selection on rotation. You can get espresso, milk drinks, a solid match or some really fancy pour overs (Ask the team what's in the secret freezer).

Cakes and bakes are solid from local producers, but the main attraction is the coffee. They stock on of the best rotations in the UK. They have some good contacts and you can get some of the best roastries in the world from here.

Recently, I really enjoyed the Prodical espresso. They have a Decent and they are always messing around and trying new recipes with it. Batch brew is always good. Milk coffees are usually great. Pourover selection is aome of the best.

Some ot the Baristas here are competitive and they use those skills on the bar. Always pushing boundaries, never stuck doing the same thing over and over.

Kapow also host a lot of events. You should follow them...

RACIST - be aware. Was refused to be served by a male Asian barista with glasses (in Thorntons Arcade) after I asked if they do syrups. He snapped No and instead of suggesting alternatives he quickly instructed me and my girlfriend to go to Starbucks and refused service - absolutely bizarre. Safe to say the most random act of unkindness I’ve ever experienced, who would have thought trying to support independent coffee shops would result in being insulted and casted out the door. Extremely rude and I do hope the owner sees this and deals with the barista described appropriately. If this was the owner they should be ashamed. As this incident was unprovoked one can only assume it was a racist act. Had friends with similar experiences with this place. Recommend to...

This is the best coffee shop in Leeds.

If you are in town and craving a coffee to a very high standard, this is where you should go.

I am a resident, coffee nerd, and have tried most of them in the city and surroundings. This is the best and most consistent.

Now bear in mind that they have a no laptops policy, so it’s not possible to sit and work in here - I think because having people camping at tables reduces space for people coming and going. It’s very small with limited seating (but more upstairs) - it’s designed to go with a few people or a friend and sit and talk, or for you to get takeaway.

Anyway. Best coffee. Thanks for being awesome at what you do and caring about making each...
