Mondo Kitchen & Coffee House — Restaurant in Leeds

Today I spent several hours wondering the streets of Otley doing a little shopping in the sun and I noticed this cafe restaurant has a few vegan offerings so I went in. The staff were very helpful it was around lunchtime and I asked if I could have a vegan breakfast they said absolutely so I took a seat. I watched the world passing by the window while I waited. My espresso arrived in minutes great aroma and good flavour 👌 shortly after my brunch arrived it looked fresh clean a well prepared. Vegan sausage a type I've not had before and they were delicious with a herby flavour id guess sage, little bowl of beans, bowl of fresh smashed avocado grilled tomato 4 peices of rustic toast a portion of spinach and finally sautéed mushrooms. Staff returned to make sure everything was satisfactory I ordered a second coffee. I paid and had a lovely chat with a member of staff possibly the owner or manager anyway a charming lady. I thanked them for a fabulous meal and wondered of content. All sounds normal but I'm a rather difficult person to please and can be easily disappointed but not today not with these super people in their delightful restaurant. Thank you...

I had lunch there with 2 friends and my 18 month old granddaughter and I cannot praise it enough. They were very welcoming from the moment I entered. We had a table upstairs whee there were highchairs and even a little play corner with a toy kitchen, animals.and books. The food was wonderful. Not the usual lunch menu or sandwiches etc. I had a turmeric humus with poached eggs and pesto on lovely white bread. Very chunky bread. Will be back for this again! The children's venue was good and my granddaughter has hand battered fish chips and beans. The fish was.lovely and white and would have been big enough for me. The baguettes were delicious, and the coffees were lovely and hot. Unfortunately, the food arrived 20 minutes after the coffees, by which time we'd finished our drinks. I explained this to the gentleman, he apologised, and I ordered another coffee. When I came to pay the bill, I mentioned this to the Manageress/Owner- immediately she snapped back "We're not a fast food joint you know- we're not KFC". I was so taken aback at her rude response, I just replied " I know that, I'm just telling you". Needless to say, we won't be going back...
