Good pub with nice selection of beers, however is not well accommodated for female pub goers. Unfortunately the only ladies toilet is shared with the only disabled toilet so is accessed by those who simply do not want to walk up stairs to use the men’s. (This was observed many times during our visit.) The only female toilet doesn’t have a sanitary bin, but has a pedal bin on the other side of the room. Slightly inconvenient for those who require it, and not very hygienic. A shame for such a quaint pub. Maybe they forget that females...

A brief visit just for a cup of coffee, but the service was good and the place is very welcoming. Was very surprised to find that this historic building wasn't originally an old inn. The building has been beautifully restored and rescued by the present owners and they deserve every success for their efforts. The best real ale pub for many miles. Free House with a questing approach to beer. Source of an ever increasing range of excellent northern craft beers on draft, served with great care for customers. If you have a genuine interest in real ale, this pub is the yardstick to judge others by. Revisited and still 5 stars. Fantastic attention to detail and...
