Like Nana Did — Local services in Leeds

Came into the shop today, Tuesday 18th March 2025, with my partner. My partner was buying some herbs which needed weighing. The girl behind the counter refused to get up of her bottom and help my partner ( seemed more interested In talking to friend) Instead, she, in my opinion, engaged in being consistently rude and dismissive to every question my partner had about completing the transaction. What do you want? (Rather than can I help you?), is that your jar?! ( no it's the shops, from which I need to decant), so you don't have a container??? ( No I'm sorry, do you have a bag? ) There! ( Where?) Right there! I would have left never to return but my partner persisted. Never have I had such poor service, so rude and obnoxious. Won't be returning. In response to the owner, there is no available e mail to send a complaint that I can see on your website. I'm a nurse of 37 years and pride myself on my manners and how to talk to and treat people. I cast no aspersions on the young ladies character just on her ability to communicate effectively with customers. It was not just what was said but the tone! It costs nothing to be helpful despite being " self service". There was no one else in the shop and when my partner clearly did not understand what to do it would have been nice to say " hello, can I help you?". I did not say anything but left the shop and said nothing but on leaving my partner felt exactly the same way. You can see from my other reviews I give high praise to many businesses when they deserve it. We have visited the shop on many occasions and received good service, but on this occasion had issues. I've only visited once and I think this is a place you have to get used to. They have an interesting selection of all sorts of stuff to refill with. Eco detergents, herbs, spices, pulses, grains and various hippy/eco/green bits and bobs. I found the jars of herbs and spices difficult to parse but fortunately managed a bit of nifty juggling to avoid a disaster. I only got a few bits and pieces some were good some seemed a little old and one or two were excellent. I was going to buy something from here, when I entered the shop the girl came from upstairs and didn't bother greeting me, was more bothered about the customers already in the shop, which they didn't bother to say excuse me and tried to brush against me which I almost lost my footing on the wet floor. I walked around the shop looking not once did the girl bother to interact with me so I just said to the wife let's go.
