Mr Tea — Restaurant in Leeds

One of our friends wanted bubble tea so we visited here. I was surprised with their wide selection of food and drinks they sell here. I'm not a bubble tea fan and I was happy to see that they do something Chinese style dessert-like. I ordered Strawberry Pomelo (a twist from Mango Pomelo (楊枝甘露)) for £6.20.

The Strawberry Pomelo was fantastic. Big in portion which can be shared by two people. It definitely curbed my craving on Chinese style desserts. The ratio of the ingredients was perfect. It wasn't overly creamy or sweet. There were enough strawberry purée, jelly, and milk before topping it off with salted cream / foam.

I was surprised with the settings of the upstairs seating. Very chilled with board games, sofa, TV, and teddy bears. It's like being in someone else's living rooms.

Before heading home this afternoon, I decided to try Mr Tea. I was welcomed in by the sweet girl at the counter, who was ever so friendly, polite and helpful.

They have two matcha drinks on their menu, which confused me a little: matcha latte and special matcha latte. I was trying to decide which to choose, so the counter service assistant suggested I opt for the regular matcha as the special matcha tends to be too bitter for most. I then let her decide the specifications for the rest of my drink (less ice and only 25% sugar).

The cups provided are highly durable and reusable, which I always appreciate. The matcha latte was good, though it wasn't mixed for as long as it should have. Some of the matcha powder was stubborn at the bottom of the cup and reluctant to be shaken into the drink! That said, I will likely still return and try their matcha...
