TLDR - Manager loves a power trip and will happily go out of their way to ruin your night!
Had the most shocking experience last night. After a day spent in the Christmas markets for a big family meet up we arrived for our booking in festive mood. After a few mulled wines we were fairly merry and were glad to see the place was full and had a loud and buzzing atmosphere. Table service was prompt and it felt like a good choice of venue to continue our festivities... or so we thought!
After our table of 10 had enjoyed our food and pricey beverages the night took a disappointing turn.
A couple with little else to do on a Saturday night decided to complain about the volume of our table. I'm assuming they must be regulars because without even haven spoken to us the manager was at our table and accusing two ladies on our table of "shrieking".
The manager's tone was rude, condescending, and lacking in any understanding. I politely questioned her on why she had decided to ruin our night and was told to stop being aggressive - a sure sign that she knew she was in the wrong!
She then said she wouldn't discuss it any further, accusing us again of shrieking and being aggressive (lol), and proceeded to hide behind the counter in the kitchen area.
Attempts to calmly discuss this with other staff were shut down and they were unable to get the manager back out to speak to us. The manager basically did everything a manager shouldn't do: escalate the situation, wind up customers, refuse to take any responsibility leave junior staff to clear up their mess.
Our server for the evening was lovely and the food was top notch. We tried to give the server a cash tip despite the rudeness of the manager - this was declined. I mention this to really emphasise both our enjoyment of the meal and the calm and reasonable tone with which he responded to these events.
The absolute refusal of the manager to come out and speak to us after being so rude was both embarrassing and immature. They did everything possible to escalate the situation and refused to offer any kind of resolution.
Upon leaving one of the couple who had complained watched us and smiled, tipping their glass. It was humiliating and made us all feel entirely unwelcome.
Two of our group live locally and had brought the family here due to their previous good experiences. Clearly they won't be returning and this story will be shared with all members of the community.
What was a really nice festive day was completely ruined and the rest of the evening was spent talking about our treatment by the manager. The whole situation was completely avoidable and its just such a shame the manager decided to act as they did.
I fully expect the same manager to reply to this review with some attempt to gaslight me again. Hopefully the ensuing reviews from all other members of our table will convince them to actually talk to us instead of hiding away like a child.
On a separate note the food was bloody...

Pizza here is neopolitan style, the waitress started by explaining something about the pizza bases being thin and floppy, somewhat unnecessarily in our case as we know our pizza but I suppose reading some of the reviews of others it doesn't hurt to educate diners if they need it!
Starters (olives and tomato garlic bread) were very good and good value for the quality
The Pizzas, were very good and cooked in a proper Italian style wood fired oven. However they were not the best I've ever had but certainly better than most other pizza places locally.
Negatives were our olives starters were initially forgotten but came out very quickly once the waitress realised which was fine but just indicative of being slightly disorganised as we only ordered three starters for our party of five. Lemonade was meant to be San Pellegrino according to the menu but we were actually served measly 200ml bottles of Schwepps which were not good value for £3 each. Mains took a while to come out, the restaurant was fairly busy but not packed, it seemed the pizza chefs had their work cut out to keep up with all the takeaway orders. It wasn't a terrible wait but it was getting that way (over 30 mins). It was kind of ironic as when I booked (table for 5:30) they said they'd need the table back for 7pm but their service delay pushed us way over 7pm. I think if a restaurant makes demands on its customer's time like that it needs to do its part and not keep customers waiting Overall this place is recommended for a great pizza, they just need to tighten up the service time and...

we were greeted and subsequently served by Ari (hope I spelled that right)
if you want to be looked after by staff who are welcoming cheerful - AND SMILE, and that subsequently excellent Pizza is served, then this is the place.
Water was immediately brought to the table, drinks ordered, and the menu, with note of the specials discussed. We selected starters to share and our mains.
Drinks quickly arrived and soon after, the starters, olives were good and the tomato garlic bread super tasty.
Yes, I agree with a previous reviewer that the thin crust is excellent
after a bit of a wait Ari came to us and said that our mains hadn't come up to the quality they aim at, and sorry, but the chef had started from scratch. There was an immediate offer of additional drinks (on the house). subsequently our mains arrived and delicious needs a capital D. throughout, the staff kept us up to speed with what was going on.
we finished off with a shared Tiramisu and a latte, the tiramisu being declared super good.
a great intro to Rudy's and we will be back
hiccups do happen, but when they are dealt with as ours did, there can be no complaints.
Watching the comings and goings, it is clear that customers are happy and appreciative of the staff who deserve a high five for...
