Recently visited this establishment at around 12.45 AM with some friends (a group of 4 asian boys, context important later), after a night of food and drinks around town.

Thought it would be a nice place to end the night with a nightcap.

Firstly, greeted at the door by an odious behemoth of a woman begrudgingly allowing us inside, with comments of "I'll let you in, but you won't get served"

We thought that was a bit strange but let's go in and see what the vibe is

We are sat at a table, just conversing regularly, enjoying the company of friends - when we notice the table opposite walk over from the bar with a fresh round of drinks??

That's odd we thought the bar was closed? Tried not to make a deal of it and stayed at the table for a bit and then decided to leave

Curiosity got the better of us and decided to ask the bar why other people were served and we were not?

After some brainless drivel from a curly-haired Caucasian bartender about "they were here before you" etc.

The true colours of this establishment were revealed with a comment, releasing all the societal facade of humanity with -

"I'll be honest, I just didn't want to serve YOU LOT"

Now I am not stranger to the service industry, especially at late hours - some people, distinctly groups of men can be raucous and disruptive, and bar staff reserve the right to refuse service in these cases.

But when a group was absolutely observant of all social values and just had a normal evening, a regular jovial conversation at a table - and then deemed to be unservable ???

Serious questions need to be asked about the ethics of this establishment, from the woman at the door to the bar staff - clear to see this is not an isolated individual with bad values - this place is run with prejudice and hatred at its core.

Leeds is a vibrant, diverse city with many great drinking establishments - i would strongly urge everyone seek out those alternatives rather than this...

Firstly trying to book was a bit of a nightmare but it was sorted out once complaints were raised, 12 of us dined tonight for my 25th, food was absolutely brilliant, service was also good. Drinks, cocktails specifically were a little on the strong side. In my opinion cocktails are meant to taste nice and get you drunk sneakily, these tasted like pure spirit. For example I had a strawberry daiquiri and it was very strong rum taste rather than the strawberry fruity flavour it should have. Then our biggest issue came to the bills. With us being a big group I understand it may be difficult to deal with however my mother in law was ordering bottles of wine and laying separately to the bill we had with the food, when she got said bill for the wine there was an extra £5 tip charge along with a service charge she’d never agreed to. Then when we all got our final bills which was two separate bills, 6 people on each bill. One bill was fine no issue, the bill for the second table which had my mother on it who originally paid the deposit for the table all paid their bill however the £132 cash they paid was never registered on the till and so the deposit returned to my mother was less than she should of had, wether this was a mistake by one of the staff or intentional of what we have no idea, it was dealt with after about 30 minutes after one member of our group spoke to the staff to try and explain the mistake made to which then staff were very reluctant to try and resolve the incident and were very argumentative, one waitress in particular whose name we did not get but was very rude to members of our party during the questioning of the bill. In the end it was all resolved however being completely honest I would never return here again which is unfortunate as the food is great but our experience was ruined due to poor...

Came to Greek Street for an All That Glitters brunch. Came 5 minutes early for our booking but still had to wait a further 7 minutes after the booking was started. Drink orders were then not placed for 10 minutes after sitting down. When we finally managed to order it was only because we called someone over. Drinks and food came out fast - which would have been amazing except we received a) the wrong food order and b) no glass or straw was received for the lightbulb moment drink. After the wrong food was received, it took another 10 minutes for the replacement to come out, by which time the other food had gone cold No safety precautions were explained and we had to ASK how to make the colour changing drink as the waiter forgot to tell us. We were waiting over 20 minutes after we finished our first drinks to place our second drink order. When we managed to order staff were rude and unwelcoming and made us feel like we were inconveniencing them (even though all we wanted them to do was their jobs). Third drink went smoothly and waitress approached us rather than us having to beg for her attention. Took 30 minutes for this drink to come though, which was understandable as could see how busy the bar was at this point. Finished our drinks and waited for the bill….. FOR 27 minutes (yes, we timed it). Manager walked past so we called him over to make a complaint. While we made the complaint he was smirking and laughing. Ended up with a full refund in the end which was adequate at best, and waitress didn’t apologise for service and simply said ‘you can leave’ when we enquired about our bill. Did I mention this booking was for a surprise birthday meal? What a great present! Thank you for...

The Greek Street venue is vastly preferrable to the overcrowded Trinity slip of a bar. It loses the plush quilt back leather sofas in favour of a slightly more paired down aesthetic (although still decadently Alchemist overall), but the gains in space and openness are more than worth it. There's an elegant and attractive new menu* with a mix of Alchemist favourites and fantastic, intriguingly listed concoctions with ingredients such as 'fire' in the Caramelised Rum Punch (this is one to be watched in the making - it's a spectacle) and 'childhood' in a bubblegumy ice cream number. The science lab glassware and smoking/flaming/colour changing cocktails are something to behold, and you inevitably find yourself oggling the mysterious beverages ordered by others with a touch of envy and a lot of childish delight *Visual aids may be needed for the small silvered font, which becomes a little illegible in low light!

Well.......it was a wet cold friday evening walking through the dreary streets of Leeds I stumbled upon this bar by luck. My nephews 20th birthday I said I will treat you to some cocktails. The bar was extremely quiet and dead. However it was a really great night as the staff were happy and made it good fun. I worked my way through the menu and I think we tried around 80percent of the cocktails. In my personal opinion the popsicle ones Tasted soapy and I really didn't like them. The fun ones were TNT and Mad hatters. The one I enjoyed the taste of the mist was jaffa cake. It comes with a warning don't bite the edible cup until completely empty (I had about and inch left and thought it will be fine if I nibble the top... but it split all the way done and leaked over my leg) All in all this was the better franchised cocktail bars I have been in....

Greatest meal out we have ever been to. We came for a little date day to leeds looking for somewhere a little more special to celebrate being child free for a day! We visited this restaurant and from start to finish were so impressed. The host (brown haired lady, yellow skirt) was so lovely and happy. Showed us to our seat promptly with no problem even though we had no booking. For first timers, we found the drinks menu had so much variety and were a little unsure on what to order. Imad our waiter was so friendly and had a very happy aura. He was more than happy to help recommend things we may enjoy. The food was so amazing. I’ve never had anything like it. Cannot recommend enough the duck salad. So flavorful and quick too! We will definitely return here. Money well spent. It’s nice to see happy and helpful staff. It really makes the experience.
