It was OK at best. The service and the bar staff are really friendly, but the beer prices are extortionate. I did enjoy the Beaver Town IPA. If you need a quick beer after a long train ride, then check it out, otherwise skip it.

A decent pub in the main train station. It is quite small and can get very crowded but if you can get a space this is a pleasant place for a drink before you catch your train.

I often pop into The Beer House on my way home if my train is delayed or cancelled and I always get served quickly even if it’s busy. I recently ordered a side and a large glass of wine which came to under £8 which I was really impressed with. Holly served me as soon as I went up to the bar and made friendly chitchat, the food came quickly and she brought me over sauces that I needed. I also appreciate the fact that the music is usually at a level that allows you to think but the place has atmosphere.

The price of a half of a pint of lager is more than a pint in some establishments. With the choice of Wetherspoons in the same railway station they are going to find people visit once and then don't return. The Beer House itself has charging points for customers to use for their electrical items, which is a bonus, and was clean and tidy with friendly staff but noticeably quieter than Wetherspoons.
