We were there about a fortnight ago when things were beginning to relax a wee bit in the hospitality trade.Ā Those who have made the effort to comply as best they can deserve one's custom and respect ... The Black Bull in Wetherby can count itself well in the ring of those who are making a difference. No need to drag it out, they just had their finger on every button ... and I would recommend them all day long.Ā The Best Gammon Steak Platter I have ever eaten and a bargain in anyone's book.Ā My good lady had what looked to be a first class omelette too.Ā We were very satisfied with the staff, cleanliness, and value for one's buck ... Try it for yourself if you happen to be in town.
Update Summer Solstice 2021. When you're in the absolute centre of one of Northern England's busiest wee horse-racingš towns, and you're hungry for lunch but care not to be ripped-off, fobbed-off or just disappointed ... and the town you're in is always-busy-but -very-nice Wetherby, then I recommend you dine at the famous Black Bull pub where you'll find exactly what you're looking for.Ā The right food in a right Yorkshire venue and staff at their most wonderful and cheerful disposition.Ā The SteakĀ & Ale Pie I had was the best I have tasted outside Scotland; my wife had Haddock & Chips with Real Mushy Peas; and yet another unsought dish containing Broccoli, Carrots and Caullie were gleefully demolished and washed down with two halves of lager.Ā We went on to share an absurdly fine Tiramisu Dish with Fresh Berries and Ice Ceeam. This tidy, clean and well-managed pub provides service with a smile, a menu more than adequate, and a bill of someĀ twenty-four quid. Hurry there, find your chair and taste the fare at this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent in for lunch first time here. We ordered jacket potatoes 1 tuna 1 coleslaw no coleslaw so had cheese. Whilst we waited lots of meals coming out fish n chips ,sandwiches, pies all looked nice and well presented. When ours came bitterly disappointed. Tuna looked like a tin was simply opened and dropped on top of Luke warm potatoe Cheese was worse looked like they had taken potato out on plate taken some white tasteless cheese and grated over top wasnāt melted and as potato was Luke warm nothing was melted. No butter was dry as sticks when I asked for butter she brought some questionable butter but looked at me as if I shouldnāt of asked. The salad has a disgusting white thick dressing when tasted it was garlic dressing which wasnāt mentioned on menu and I hate garlic. Who puts garlic dressing on a salad! We were old friends driven to catch up and didnāt want to spoil our short catch up by complaining but nearly Ā£20 with a soft drink each it certainly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been going to this pub for a few months now, with my partner and his mum, they have been going for a few years. It has always been a nice place to go, never had any issues BUT today we were served by SAMANTHA ( A middle aged lady with blonde ponytail). Now I am Black and my partner and his mum are white. This has NEVER been an issue before but today was different. This Samantha seemed to have an issue with me from the minute I sat down. I ignored it at first but then when she served our food to the table my partner got " here you go sir, Large fish and Chips" and my plate got placed down without a word. I have NEVER had that type of service in this pub But due to this I will not be returning. The manager had a word with her and she came out and said something to my partner about issues at home and said NOTHING to me. That to me shows that she is a Racist and should not work in that type of...
