Absolutely fantastic from beginning to end. Such warm and welcoming friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble. This was our first visit, we had not pre-booked but were seated quite quickly, even though the restaurant was pretty busy (Saturday night). We were brought menus within a few minutes and our drinks orders were taken promptly. The menu is extremely varied with so many options, all set out in a very orderly manner and easy to follow. We were quite overcome with choice, so we asked Harry, the owner, for his recommendations, after explaining what we kind of liked. We were brought two starters, one hot and one cold, which blended perfectly together, and were an absolute taste sensation. My partner and I visit many restaurants, but were so overly impressed with our starters, which left us very eager for what was to come next. Our two mains arrived, along with a serving of rice, and a naan bread to share, which was exactly the right amount. I have a little bit of fear of greasy food when it comes to Indian food, but this Southern Indian cuisine was nothing like that, no greasy plates, and each taste was divine. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough, and has to be the best food we have both had in years in restaurants. An absolute gem in the lovely town of Wetherby. A must try! Thank you to all at Mango, real food, real people, real service, not to mention the great seating, atmosphere and decor. Thank you, we will be back...
Read moreWe had the pleasure of dining at Mango Indian Restaurant in Wetherby, and it was an unforgettable culinary experience from start to finish.
From the moment we stepped in, the warm and welcoming ambiance set the tone for what turned out to be an extraordinary evening. The staff were incredibly attentive, the owner in particular was so nice, making sure we were comfortable and guiding us through their impressive menu .
The real highlight, of course, was the food. We indulged in a variety of starters that were nothing short of spectacular. Each dish was an explosion of flavors, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. From the crispy pani puri to the bhajis, every bite was a testament to the chef’s mastery of Indian cuisine.
The desserts were equally stunning. We couldn’t resist trying a few and each one was a sweet symphony of flavors What truly set Mango apart, though, was the attention to detail in every aspect—be it the exceptional food, the impeccable service, or the warm, inviting atmosphere. It’s rare to find a restaurant where everything aligns so perfectly to create such a memorable dining experience.
If you’re in Wetherby and looking for authentic Indian cuisine with a modern twist, Mango is an absolute must-visit. We left thoroughly satisfied and can’t wait to return for another evening of...
Read moreMy wife recently placed a single order for takeout from Mango. While the quality of the food was ok but too sweet, I can't help but feel that the total cost of £32 before applying a 10% discount raises concerns. Especially when considering the seemingly meager portion of paneer priced at £17, which arrived in what I can only describe as the tiniest container I've ever encountered from a curry house. Additionally, the £5 charge for a pickle tray, £3 for two petite popadoms, £3.50 for a pair of chapatis, and an unexpected £4.50 for a roti that wasn't even part of our order. When I reached out to express my dissatisfaction, I found that the staff's response, while polite, didn't quite reflect a genuine interest in addressing my concerns as a valued customer.
After my conversation with the manager, I decided to do a quick Google search for an A La Carte Indian takeaway in Kensington, London, to compare the pricing of a paneer curry. To my surprise, I found a restaurant offering a paneer curry for just £10.95, and they even boasted a Traveler's Choice award. I've attached a picture of the bill that shows a total of £32 before applying the 10% takeaway discount. This significant price difference has certainly given me pause...
