We've been fans of Cat's PJ's for a couple of years, and never went anywhere else, we recommended it over every other local Indian restaurant. But over the last 2 year or so it's become incredibly hit & miss. Dining in the restaurant itself, it can be so untidy - I don't want to see big plastic boxes of poppadoms randomly around the place, or bits of equipment/items just stacked here and there. The staff aren't very attentive...seem more occupied with delivery drivers! The food is nice, but very overpriced for what it is. Their weakest dish is the onion bhaji's, we've tried a couple of times and they're always overcooked and too salty.
When ordering for delivery, the food does arrive hot & the curries taste just as good when dining in, though the naan's seem to suffer, both burnt & soggy a lot of the time. Portions of the curries vary hugely, quite often the container is barely half-full...which when they're nearly £10 is a bit cheeky! Similarly, charging £3.50 for 'poppadoms' is just ripping customers off, when they probably give you 1 1/2 standard size pops that have been crushed up a bit. The bags of these get smaller and smaller every time.
We just feel like this place has gone downhill, and it's such a shame because it used to be our go-to. Seems like they are falling short on most fronts these days, and if they're not interested in providing good quality service and setting, their prices should...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would. I had the worst experience ordering food with these jokers. The food was over an hour late. When it arrived it was very greasy and felt like it had been cobbled together in 5mins. Half the items of my order were missing. When my girlfriend called to request the additional items to be delivered they advised they'd deliver them again in 15 mins however after 30 mins there was no sign of the delivery driver. I called to request an update only to be met with a very aggressive man who claimed to be the owner and refused to deliver the additional items or provide a refund (this was a £65 order). I was completely fobbed off and it ruined a family meal. I don't know what's happened to this place, they used to serve nice food and were friendly. However, after seeing recent reviews it appears they've really gone down hill. I will never be coming back to this poor excuse of a restaurant and will advise all my friends and colleagues to avoid like the plague. There are much better Indian food venues in Leeds that are much more deserving of the custom. If they carry on this level of customer service and food quality they won't be in business much longer anyway, and...
Read moreIf I could give 0 I would. Very bad service and disgustingly unclean. I ordered main meal Hayderabadi Chicken, rice, onion bahji starter and popdoms with chutney tray and lemonade.
First, waitress said we don't have lemonade instead she offered seven up. When she saw that I am going to cancel the order and leave then suddenly they found that they have lemonade.
Then she brought it without a glass and I have to ask for the glass then after I poured the lemonade into the glass I noticed the glass was dirty and there was a mosquito in the glass floating on the lemonade I asked to replace it, they did but when she brought the new glass she brought a tiny cup similar to turkish tea cups.
I have asked for the starters to come first then main meal instead they brought me the chicken curry with onion bahji without the rice I ordered also I was not happy that she brought main meal before starter.
On top of all that the rice bowl was half empty and barley made of 3 spoons.
It was an obvious act of discrimination the way they treated me.
Awful experience, disgusting how unclean it was to find a mosquito in the drink. Unprofessional and discriminating restaurant. I strongly do not recommend...
