Big Mouth Burger Bar — Restaurant in Lewes

I first had a burger here 27 years ago as I had a parcel round in the area.They were really good value and the best burger I had ever tasted (mushroom burgers my favourite).I live in Crawley so generally now visit if I'm in the area( retired now). Always recommended this burger bar. However,I have popped in several times recently while doing coastal walks,recently with a friend,whom I recommended the food to. Again I had the usual mushroom burger and my friend had a normal burger.He said he enjoyed it but mine was really greasy.I put it down as a one off. I have been back on my own since and again had the usual mushroom burger,fries (good as usual) and milkshake (again,good).The burger was even worse though,not sure if it's inferior quality meat or generally how it was prepared. The first time I have never finished the meal,the burger bun was like a soggy sponge dipped in grease. The guy that used to serve there many years ago was in there (the owner),the young girl on the till is always pleasant.The older lady that handed me the food (and prepared it) seemed to have an attitude. After years of praising/recommending this burger bar I won't be going back. Burgers were very, very nice but drinks tasted quite dull and the drinks' cups looked very basic with just a smile and it saying "enjoy". Not much sauces and it was all dried and dehydrating. It was good for becoming thirsty. Bar was quite unpopular and workers were miserable and showed no emotion, they were dead inside and weren't very nice by not saying here you go and thank you for the money. Big Mouth was popular and trending when it came out but now it is just dead inside now and not much people go in the bar. Not much in the sauces and it was quite dried to be honest. We have used this take away many times before, and have enjoyed them. But not again. Yesterday on route back to Seaford, we called in for a take away. Got home and wanted to enjoy the food, as we had done in the past.
