We visited tonight, a Saturday, at 7pm and the restaurant was busy, which is good to see. The decor is nicely authentic (compared to restaurants and tavernas on Greek islands and mainland Greece I have visited on holiday) and the service we received was excellent; the staff were attentive and asked about food allergies.
I had been looking forward to some nice cold Retsina all day and was disappointed when I asked that it's not sold here; we ordered bottles of Mythos beer instead. The food didn't take long to arrive at the table: Quality and presentation was lovely but the portion of my meal was very small; I ordered Yiouvetsi and it was served in a convex shaped bowl so the portion appeared to be bigger than it actually was. I was disappointed there were only 4 small pieces of beef. The flavour of the beef was nice but I couldn't taste the cinnamon that's mentioned in the description on the menu. Two of our party ordered Halloumi and Pork Souvlaki, which appeared to be a more substantial portion, although not as large as some of the photos in other people's reviews. I didn't feel that my meal was good value for the £19 charged and I regretted not choosing something else.
I was still hungry after my main dish so we ordered desserts: The orange pie I ordered was very tasty and it was a decent size portion. The Ferrero Rocher cake my friends ordered looked very nice; I tried a bit and it tasted nice too.
We had great service in the restaurant; we split the bill 4 ways so it was £31 each including a tip: I wouldn't mind paying this for a drink, a main and a dessert if I felt satiated but I didn't; I was still hungry when we left and I didn't get the Retsina I had been looking...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTerrible been 3 times 1st AMAZING 2nd time we waited 2 hours for food and it only came after we complained Tonight have been the starter was amazing unfortunately the main course was so salty I was unable to eat it they didnāt want to listen to me and stated āyou complained last timeā i donāt complain normally (constructive criticism) but my husband also stated he had a lovely meal as he loves salt!!!!! She was rude and wouldnāt listen!
In answer to the owners reply yes I only review businesses for future customers to be aware of !!! But also salt is needed in our diet but not in excess as it is bad for you causing high blood pressure, strokes and heart attacks. You can add salt but you cannot take it out. As the saying goes āless is moreā.Greek food is about olive oil olives and oregano not salt!!! Our 2nd visit was not good because you forgot us and didnāt serve us and we said we would pay for our drinks and forget the food IT WAS YOU WHO SAID FOR US TO EAT AND IT WAS YOU WHO SAID DONT PAY AS YOU MADE THE MISTAKE!!!! We came back and gave you another chance and again unfortunately let downā¦ā¦ā¦really really sad as Greek food is my go to I would also like to add we had already paid the bill in full even though I didnāt eat it when we told the waitress about the salt-she also stated you didnāt complain BUT she never came and asked if everything was ok because they where to busy...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had great expectations joking that if it was good I wouldn't need to visit Greece. Well my Greek holidays are safe. Visited with my wife and daughter 18/3/23. Felt the need to write this review as I'm tried of paying top dollar for poor food and my Lamb Kleftiko (Ā£24.70) was basically a very small lamb shank "presented" in paper with three potato wedges and a couple pieces cheese chunked in. It could not in any way be described as Lamb Kleftiko. A Lamb Kleftiko is a juicy and tender, melt-in-the-mouth lamb with fluffy potatoes and a delicious white wine sauce, infused with the aromas of garlic, sweet onions, roast peppers and juicy tomatoes - this was anything but. Simply putting a lamb shank in some baking paper after it's cooked doesn't mean it's a Lamb Kleftiko. I suggest take it off the menu until you know how to cook one properly - you should be ashamed of that dish. I did complain at the time - but it fell on deaf ears I'm afraid. Other aspects of the meal, Greek Salad, side dishes were good (and the other meals were good - but this is a review about my meal), so I'll give it two stars, I'm knocking off the stars due to poor food and not addressing my complaint at the time - I still can't get over how much I paid for the worst Lamb Kleftiko in my life - I woke up this morning still annoyed thinking about it 4 days later,...
