From the outside, it looks like another tacky eatery in a street lined with tacky takeaways. Walk through the door and pleasantly surprised. A little deli counter, a back room then a garden. The garden overlooks a derelict abandoned overgrown garden. Not a problem, I am used to this in Athens. What is the problem, and I don’t see in Athens, tenants throwing rubbish out of their windows into the garden. It is ideal breeding ground for rats. The local environmental health should investigate, and if needed carry out enforcement action. To sit outside or not? Maybe too cool when the sun went in, and too hot if it came out as no shade. I decided to sit inside, near the back door. A red rose on the table is a neat touch. I was the only diner. Oh but we were busier earlier. Strange how I am always told, if you’d have been here when you weren’t here, we were busy. The menu was singurly uninspiring. Why panini’s? Everywhere does paninis. I have never understood why. Or pasta. The choice penne (which I don’t like), or spaghetti (which I dislike slightly less) I chose spaghetti Bolognese. It arrived seemingly quick. I was asked when I placed my order, did I wish for Parmesan cheese? It was added in the kitchen. Usually brought to and added at the table. Spaghetti Bolognese is not an Italian dish. It was an artificial dish with elements of North and South. The spaghetti mediocre at best, the Bolognese sauce excellent. I was going to leave but decided to stay. I chose tiriamasiu for dessert. Coffee, Illy, no thanks. For coffee walk to Madame Waffle or Coffee Aroma. I visited a couple of weeks ago, the previous week I found closed.

Just nipped in for a quick lunch soon bumped into the chef who was from Iran but been into Italian food all his life. This is a delight and a serious contender for lunch. Very authentic and comes highly recommended

This is a nice little spot serving Italian cuisine. Me and my partner decided to get some pasta for takeaway, I was shocked to hear carbonara wasn’t made the traditional way but with cream! In England this is extremely common though so I can’t complain too much.

I received a smallish Chinese style takeaway box which I initially was a bit dissapointed with, when I opened the box it was filled to the brim, and actually a very large portion, probably enough for 2 people!

I ordered a white wine pasta dish with broccoli (forgot the name), to which I paid extra for chicken.

Trying the food the flavours weren’t anything too special, to our preference the pasta was cooked too much as we prefer Al Dente, but in the restaurants defence we didn’t ask for this. Broccoli was cooked nice crunchy but tender at the same time, we got asked if we wanted extra parmesan but was disappointed to see a little sprinkle on top, everyone loves a lot of parmesan!

Although a few minor things that I would have personally changed it was a nice dish, the server made effort to make conversation and made me feel welcomed...

Lovely little restaurant and/or takeaway with a personal touch; we went to visit our son first year at Lincoln Uni, booked this restaurant for a late lunch/afternoon food in advance after reading other reviews & have to say was not at all disappointed. Accommodated a further 2 to our party of 4 at short notice (1 hour). my wife & I eat off the specials menu, I had the king prawns, prawns, mussels & crayfish in a chilli/tomato sauce, with spaghetti...this was a fabulous choice fish was plentiful, 2 had the salmon dish again off the specials which was very much enjoyed & my other half had the bacon & mushroom dish, again off the specials which once again wasn’t dissapointed...with 3 portions of garlic bread & bread with oil starters 2 other mains & inc drinks (non alcoholic) plus 2 coffees to finish; 6 people feed & watered for less than £100 Highly Recommended 👍 we will definitely visit again...
