The Victorian Prison at Lincoln Castle is a fascinating glimpse into the past. Walking through the old cells and seeing how prisoners lived really made history come alive. The video tables ,audio guides and displays do an excellent job of explaining what life was like in the prison during the 19th century looking at different cases. The chapel, with its unique separate seating, was particularly interesting and eerie at the same time. Read moreIf you're old enough, you will walk round with the Porridge theme in your head. It is a great place to explore at your leisure with it feeling like it only closed yesterday. In the female prison is a nice museum of the history of the castle with finds from archaeology digs. There are activities for the kids, and the threat of if you don't behave you will end up here. There are lifts to get access to all floors. The chapel is a highlight with it being a rare survivor of that type of chapel.
