Abysmal Experience. Ordered food through here. They don't do their own delivery service and instead, use Uber Eats. I'm actually struggling enunciate a review that can quite sum up the appalling experience that my work colleagues and I have just suffered through - needless to say, I will never, ever go anywhere near this restaurant again.
Firstly, despite wanting to make an order at around 11am - we were informed on the website that orders could only be taken after 12. So we waited until 12 and made our order. By which point we were all pretty hungry.
Upon ordering, we discovered that we were being charged more for our meals than they were listed for on the menu. So instead of simply charging a delivery fee, plain and straightforward, they simply increase the price of all the food on the menu a bit so you never truly know how much you're going to spend on the food until you go to order it.
Our food arrived 1 hour and 45 minutes after ordering, on a pushbike.
A pushbike.
The food was cold. Not, this food has 'gone cold' cold. I mean, 'this food has been left in the fridge overnight' cold.
So after nuking it in the microwave for 3-4 minutes, it was lukewarm and tasted like a frozen microwave meal from Iceland. Sorry no, worse - for the price, some of those Iceland meals are actually not that bad. I promptly put the entire meal in the bin, and now have a terrible impression of the disgusting microwave-frozen-meal quality of their food.
The part of the meal that wasn't cold as though it had been left in the fridge? The cans of drink. They had seemingly been left in a cupboard and hot drinks with cold food is not quite what we were after.
The long and short of it is - I just paid over a tenner for a warm can of Coke.
I am quite disgusted by their service. In advance of a reply that attempts to shift the blame onto Uber Eats - when I buy a product from Amazon and it isn't up to standard, I take the issue up with Amazon, not their delivery company. When the UberEats 'driver' turned up on a pushbike - I would have turned him away, called my customer, and politely explained that I was refunding their money as the delivery company we use is incapable of providing me with a delivery driver that will actually get the food to the customer within the time it takes for the food to go stone cold.
Terrible from start to finish. Avoid like the plague, and whatever happens, NEVER order out from here.
See the attached pictures. That was the meal after I had microwaved it in a failed attempt to re-heat it to an edible form. And the meal in the bin, after I subsequently realised this just wasn't...
Read moreMy recent visit to Archie’s in Liverpool was nothing short of a disappointing dining experience. The issues encountered throughout my visit have left a sour taste in my mouth, making it impossible to overlook the numerous shortcomings.
Firstly, the front-of-house staff, particularly a female employee, exhibited an attitude that was blunt and utterly unwelcoming. The lack of warmth or even basic courtesy was striking and detracted significantly from the overall dining experience.
To add insult to injury, I was dumbfounded to discover that they had run out of chicken! Yes, a chicken-focused establishment had depleted its primary ingredient, leaving me questioning the competence of their management and operational planning. It’s baffling how a restaurant could falter so drastically by failing to stock an item central to nearly 90% of their menu offerings.
Furthermore, the lack of basic necessities such as utensils, napkins, and straws was astonishing. It’s inconceivable that a supposedly reputable establishment could neglect such fundamental elements of the dining experience.
Moreover, the waiting time was exasperating. After being called up, we were left standing for an excruciating five minutes while the staff prepared our order. This level of inefficiency is unacceptable, especially in an establishment that positions itself as a fast-food service.
What’s more frustrating is the audacity to charge prices comparable to gastro restaurants while providing service that falls far below the mark. If Archie’s aspires to command such prices, their service quality should match the standards expected at that level. Otherwise, they should reconsider opening their doors, especially when they lack the basic ingredients needed to serve their customers.
Lastly, given the dismal experience, I cannot help but recommend alternatives in the vicinity. The recent opening of Popeyes down the road provides a more promising and satisfying option. Additionally, the independent eateries on Bold Street offer friendlier service and a more authentic dining experience, making them far superior choices compared to the dismal offering at Archie’s.
In conclusion, my visit to Archie’s Liverpool was a regrettable mistake, and I strongly advise potential patrons to explore other dining options in the area for a more fulfilling and satisfactory...
Read morei’ve been to archies multiple times which was amazing every other time but last sunday wasn’t what i expected. i ordered a full meal for my family such as the classic joeburger, milkshakes. 2 waffles with cream and nutella on, a vimto. it took so long just for the vimto and 2 milkshakes to come. i had to wait nearly a hour with nowhere to sit just waiting for food to come. i would of rather had everything come at once so i didn’t have to keep cold drinks in my hands for ages. so the waffles, when we got home with the food since we weren’t eating in. the waffles had nutella on but no cream but when i was in there watching the woman do the milkshakes they brought in 2 new big refill boxes of cream so they couldn’t have ran out but maybe there was no cream on the waffles since the boxes still weren’t opened before i left. about the receipts, every time they brought a few pieces of food out to me they had to see my receipt. like another review said it’s a bit odd that they don’t keep their own receipts of your order. i seen a few other families come in well after me for example there was a man with 3 children who came in maybe 10-15 minutes after me and ordered a full meal for all of them including 4 milkshakes. they got all what they asked for and wanted well before me while my order was littler than theres and left about 20 minutes before i left on the hour mark. so i found that really unfair since i had school the next day and i left at 9.30pm still having to get ready for school the next morning. every other time i went there i got all that i asked for, the staff weren’t rushing around like they was on sunday, sunday was appalling. i would 4/10 recommend because the food was good apart from no cream on the waffles like we asked for but on the other hand waiting for a hour? no. never...
