Lunch buffet - all you can eat, +6 cuts of meat.
So we got to Liverpool from Wales to visit the museum, when we arrived we were hungry and had some time to burn so looked for somewhere to eat..
There were a few places to choose from like the standard takeaway places and then 3 restaurants amongst some pub restaurants, we didn't fancy pub lunch so we ruled them out, we ruled out the other restaurant because it was too expensive and didn't look like we would enjoy the menu, & we ruled another out the buffet restaurant because the reviews weren't too good, and then we were 'left' with copacabana, the reviews were good and price was right, so we waited for it to open for lunch at 12.
On opening we were seated by the window which had a nice view, the salad bar (cold & cooked) was smelling great, and the meat also smelt great (which was out the back)
We ordered our drinks and were told to help ourself to the buffet. I had a bit of everything, I couldn't help myself it all looked so good. And it all tasted great. The only downer was a small fly hanging about the tune pasta, it soon disappeared.
I finished my first plate, potato salad, sweetcorn salad, chilli new potatoes, red onions, bread, rice, pasta, mushroom in black bean sauce(I think), carrot salad, sweet potato, (and others) (it was a bad idea getting a spoon of each) and then i went up for seconds unknown what was about to come.... It was a bad idea because...
The chef then came out with meat number one... Minted lamb, my gosh it was out standing! Moist, cooked great. All meats were cooked on the kabab stick and brought to the table.
Then meat number two - red sausage, was also very nice a 'foreign' meat, a bit salty for me but still nice enough I had 2.
Then meat number three - steak, very nicely cooked on the outside, a little blue the deeper he cut, but very tasty.
Then meat number four - chicken on the bone. It was succulent very tasty.
At this point I am definitely struggling and my wife also, more than me. I was about to give up, but asked what the last meats were, and it was chicken wings and gamon. So I stepped up and tried the chilli chicken wings.
Oh wow, they were great and just right, the perfect kick.
I just couldn't stomach the last meat, I was literally about to pop, I spent the whole rest of the day full!
If it wasn't 4 hours drive from me I would...
Read moreWhat a fantastic restuarant. The other reviews are clearly competitors trying to drag the place down. We attended here on Saturday 16th December for our work night out. We where greeted by a very friendly waitress who showed us to our table after giving it a wipe over and pushed 2 tables together for us. The menus quickly followed along with an explanation of how the menu works. Drink orders quickly followed and where brought out promptly. The hot food and salad bar was fantastic, plenty of fresh salad and hot food, the curry & mushrooms where amazing! We also had someone in our party who has Coeliac and the waitress was very good and aware of what meats she couldn't eat and what was safe on the salad/hot food bar. She also double checked on the chips as well for us.
Unfortunately, the Stella lager was off and had bits in, this was dealt with promptly with a big apology! It happens so no issue at all.
The meats soon came out once we all had a plate and flowed at a steady pace. Out of the 14 meats on the menu, we had 12 of them served to our table followed by Pineapple. The waiters carving the meats where very friendly and enjoyed their job! The meats where top quality and they would cook it to order, so some of us liked it a little pinker than others they would cook it well done and come back. All very tasty and tender!
All of my staff commented on how much they enjoyed the meal and the restaurant.
Compared to other restaurants of similar style in the area Copacabana, is the most reasonably priced. Drinks where not badly priced either.
Overall, we had such a fantastic time and I would most certainly go back and recommend to others!
Big thanks to all...
Read moreIf you've ever been to any of the other Brazilian Rodizio style restaurants you will know the calibre of the service, the selection of meats and the salad bar. DO NOT expect this same level here. Yes its half the price of the others but for good reason.
The salad bar was not to our taste, mostly pasta or potato salad, beetroot in a sort of garnish and some unnamed, unlabelled hot dishes that looked like they had been sat for hours. I'm no Salad expert, maybe it was a good selection to some but at most other places I fill a plate here I sat down with an empty one eagerly awaiting some quality meat.
But it was not to be. The meat was often very overcooked and tough, with the exception of the cap of rump which we had to keep requesting as this was the only choice we enjoyed.
I appreciate we went on a Sunday but for most of our meal there was just one guy serving the meats to the entire restaurant. You get your tiny sliver and then wait between 5-10 minutes for another morsel.
Overall we were there about 2 hours, most of that time was sat with an empty plate waiting for the next meat. If you didn't want what was being offered that round it was another lenghy wait for the next. Looking back at the selection for the 'Evening' menu I reckon we only saw just over half that list.
Towards the end of our meal we noticed it get busier and out of nowhere a new guy appeared to help serve/carve. This didn't really improve matters much though as the overall ratio of people/tables to chefs serving was still the same.
We had never heard of this restaurant until our visit and I can say for certain we wouldn't...
