We went last night for my friend’s birthday and it was FABULOUS! 🍸 The cocktails were really well priced and absolutely delicious – even had a Purple Rain and a White Russian, my faves!

The food was beautiful and plentiful. I had the homemade moussaka, which was to die for, and my friend had the steak, which she said was the best she’s had in years. Others had kebabs – the meat was tender and fresh, all served with rice, chips, and salad.

The waiter was gorgeous and even put on some Gypsy Kings and a bit of Julio Iglesias for us – it took us right back to when restaurants were proper eateries with great food and a relaxed ambience. It had that authentic taverna feel, not the pretentious stuff you get in so many places these days.

Oh, and the best bit? All the food is cooked by his mama – and you can really taste the love in every bite! 💖

It was cafe in mid 1990 and very much in need of refurbishment and remodeling.

It's been few restaurants over the years from Indian ,Egyptian ,Turkish and Greek

Rich Pakistani Ajaz owns portfolio of commercial property and houses all along Smithdown and lark lane area since 1980s.

He made this small cafe in to massive restaurant,my parents are good friends with the family for years.

My parents have been coming here since 2000 when a local well known rich man turned this building in to beautiful restaurant. It was transformed with his vision. If you saw the befores and afters,you wouldn't believe it was the same building.

I visited Luminous on a Monday evening with a friend. The restaurant wasnt very busy, there were lots tables available. The staff are very welcoming and the service we received was good. Regarding the food. Id say its ok ,but nothing special. There wasn't really much depth of flavour to any of the dishes I ate. We had a mixed plate all meats with rice. The meat didn't appear to be freshly grilled in my opinion as it was luke warm when it arrived at the table and no juices was coming out of any of the meats, which tells me it's precooked. We did eat it all, although I was a little disappointed with the meal overall. I don't think id go back, however, the staff are great and the interior of the restaurant is nice, and prices were reasonable. Its just my personal opinion, I did expect a more satisfying...
