We loved this restaurant and had a wonderful time, so why only 4 Stars? Many items marked vegetarian are not, including Tuna (which can be removed if aske) and cheese with animal rennet (but you have to think to check). When I asked why, I was ingeniously told by the waiting staff, 'well vegetarians don't seem to mind...', my reply was 'we do', however everything was adjusted. Accessibility: good, open (manual) level front entrance, ramp down into the restaurant. Level near the entrance into the Deli. Toilet for disabled near the kitchen. Very helpful for seating for a disabled family member. Ordinary tables (as opposed to high stools) further in. See Car Park below. Car Park: not applicable, on the corner of a traffic road and pedestrianised street, car parking at the Tesco's across the Street (with lift and assume a charge). Food: I ordered 3 Tapas, larger than what I expected and shared out some of mine. For lunchtime, I could have been well satisfied with two. The carnivores loved their meals. ££ to £££, but we well got what we paid for. Portion size good and cooked to order. Tapas style, dishes were brought in as cooked and not all at once. For drinks: good selection of alcohol and soft drinks. My pineapple juice was a decent size, hubbie had his Spanish dry Sherry he loves, cousins beer and a Pepsi. Vegetarians: beware, Spain considers Fish vegetarian, but you can ask for the fish to be not put in as everything is cooked to order. I also ordered the mushrooms and asparagus with the Jambon not put in. I also had the hummus with toasted sourdough and garlic aioli potatoes, yum, serious garlic! Vegans that don't mind strict segregation of cooking area, ask and check. Staff: very witty and friendly. Toilets: for Disabled downstairs near the Kitchen (ask staff about the signage), Men's and Ladies upstairs.

Obviously everything is different at the moment so staff have masks on and tables are made smaller to help with social distancing. This is still taking me some time to get used to but thankfully as soon as the first forkful entered my mouth, all worries and concerns just slipped away. The food here is magical. We ordered about 9 different tapas and they were all delicious but I'll highlight three. Gambas Pil Pil - a prawn dish. I've eaten lots of prawns everywhere. I like them a lot. These were right, right, right up there amongst the best I've had. Wonderful. Deep Fried Monte Enebro - deep fry anything and it tastes better. But deep fry cheese, in this case goats cheese, and we are eating with the gods. Cauliflower 'Wings' - Partner picked this and I thought she'd wasted one of her choices to be honest. I was wrong. Deep fried (spot a theme in my tastes?) cauliflower with a buffalo sauce and a blue cheese dressing. Unexpected highlight. Everything was great, including the wine. My 12 year old loved trying the tapas with us and my 6 year old demolished her meatballs and chips. Properly good. Recommended.

A visit to this Spanish deli in Liverpool has become a delightful tradition for me. The hand-churned butter is a standout, and it's the reason I always make a point to stop by during my visits. The butter, with its rich and creamy texture, is an absolute delight for the taste buds. I find myself unable to resist the temptation to grab a can (or two) every time I'm there. It has become a must-buy item for me, and I appreciate the authenticity and quality that sets it apart. During my recent visit, I decided to venture beyond my usual purchase and tried their chorizo sausage roll. What a treat! The combination of flaky pastry and flavorful chorizo was a taste sensation. I was so impressed that I seriously contemplated going back for ten more – it was that good! This deli has consistently exceeded my expectations, not just for butter but also with its diverse and delicious offerings. If you're a fan of authentic Spanish flavors or simply looking for a culinary adventure, this place is a hidden gem in Liverpool. Don't miss out on the chorizo sausage roll; it might just become your new favorite too!

My friends and I visited the place on a Friday evening. The food arrived very fast, but the menu description of the "giant" board with tapas has nothing to do with the real size of this board. It is small, expensive and had nuts that were old and smelled like aged greasy fryer. We ordered marinated anchovies as a tapas too and what came were two and a half fishes literally! That is hilarious! Then we decided to at least try the seafood paella - it is made when ordered, so not preheated. The rice was so dry and hard you could break a tooth, the mussels were full of sand and algae and smelled bad which you can always tell if you ever tried fresh mussels. The whole dish tasted as if the paella pan was not cleaned in the right way - there are specific rules to do that but they were obviously not followed since the dish smelled and tasted like the dishwashing/hand washing detergent and chlorine. We spoke with the manager, she was really nice and I think she wanted to help but in a not very smart way - she suggested we pay half the paella because we have "already ate half". we were four people, all of us had put some paella in our plates that was obviously not eaten, but it was not in the main pan, so this is how she measured that the paella was in half. And we had a price reduction for something we haven't eaten, but we definitely tried (that's why I feel confident to give this review). Me myself am a restaurant owner and I always try to support establishments that are hospitable, I do it in my own restaurants and I openly accept both criticism and support. The experience at Lunya is one I will not forget but...

We had a wonderful meal on Saturday night. The food was excellent. Between the two of us we ordered 7 dishes plus a portion of bread and this was the correct amount. An 8th dish would have been too many. There wasn't a disappointing dish amongst them. My personal favourites were the Smoked Haddock Bunuelos, the Goats Cheese and the deep fried aubergines, but here I am picking winners from a whole list of winners.

The service was excellent. An initial set of dishes arrived quickly, and then there was space before the next lot came, which meant that we did not feel either overwhelmed or hurried. The front of house man was particularly good: friendly, helpful with suggestions and an overall delight - he even gave recommendations on where we might want to go next.

The restaurant was busy without ever seeming overfull, and the underlying noise was a general happy hubbub: no piped music, about which I was pleased.

When I booked, there was a suggestion that I would need to leave within 90 minutes of my booking time. At no point did I feel rushed, and I think I overstayed by about 10 minutes without any hint that I should have gone sooner. Therefore, don't be put off by that.

Each dish came in at comfortably under £10: of the dishes we had (ignoring the bread), the cheapest was £7.50 and the most expensive was £9.30.

I would absolutely...
