Turtle Bay, Stay away!!! The experience of this place is awful. I can't even comment on the food as the food never arrived. We ordered our food in good time as we had an appointment later in the day. We enquired where our food was after 30 minutes and were told it would be another 20 minutes. I asked how long our dishes usually take to cook and was informed 30 minutes. I then enquired why our food was going to take 50 minutes from ordering. I informed them of our appointment time which was 30 minutes drive away. Panic mode seemed to have been activated, and we were offered different dishes from the menu instead of our order or wait for the original, which had now magically dropped to a 10-minute wait; both would now be ready at a similar time. Becky however, throught it would be best to order from the already prepared as this would be quicker which indicated our original order would not be ready in time. We said yes to an alternative, abut fter waiting a short while we realised that the time was ticking down and this food wasn't even ready, we needed to go as we'd already waited 45 minutes after our order had been put through. To add insult to injury, guests at the table next to us had a banquet on the table despite arriving 20-plus minutes after we did. After leaving I made a call to the restaurant to complain. Ironically, the person who served us was the manager, Becky! Becky was articulate about her frustration with our wait and was already asking why this had happened. Apparently, the chefs put our food in the oven 3 minutes after the ticket went in as they were doing preparation prior. This was a lie, as I witnessed him putting them in long after this and if his times were right, our food would have arrived shortly after our enquiry, not another 10/20 minutes later. Becky then came back with the excuse that you witnessed a temperature check. I reiterated that I know the difference between a 30-minute wait and a 50-minute wait. The excuses were very poor as was the service! What a joke, the name is right the move and operate at turtle but they need to replace bay with pace!...
Read moreTurtle bay was a place I always wanted to visit physically but I have ordered food from them online and it was their jerk chicken and rice and peas.
I went here after my graduation with my friend and sister and I honestly loved it and my sister had a child so they got her child a comfortable sit . This is to show that it’s children friendly and they have special chairs for them.
I honestly feel that they should employ more people in order to ease the stress of having just two people cater for all guests cause that made the service a bit slow.
We got drinks and I can’t lie the drinks were too good and they had a promo where in if you buy one drink you would get another one for free meaning we had six all in total and I can’t lie that was too lush. If you ever go to turtle buy please never miss the drinks.
For food I and my sister ordered a platter that came with chips but we ordered extra chips and they also have a kids menu and I found that thoughtful. My friend had the seafood curry goat and rice and peas and that had no taste tbh. It was not well seasoned and it tasted really bland and he couldn’t even eat it half way. My jerk chicken platter had seafood and other things in it but it tasted good and they have varieties of sauces that you can pick from and I like my food spicy so it was like a blessing to have sauces that had spice in it. My sister ordered a burger to take away and it was nice as well.
The atmosphere of this place is bubbly and nice and so colorful sometimes it reminds me of Danfo Bistro back in Nigeria. The price for the 3 of us was like 70 pounds thereabout and that’s not bad for 3 people at all.

Read moreMy wife and I had lunch hear during our trip down in Liverpool. The restaurant is very well decorated, creating a nice Caribbean feel. The girl that served us was really good. She admitted that she didn’t know how good some of the dishes were because they had a brand spanking new menu. However, she was able to give good recommendations based what she knew. The menu is massive and I actually found it difficult deciding on what I wanted so she was very helpful. My wife got The Kingston fried chicken which came with Mac & Cheese and had garlic flat bread as a side. I had the fish fry with fries and also got sweet plantain as a side. Firstly, the chicken was great and had nice flavour. The hot sauce it came with piping hot but nice. The hot sauce was meant to be on top of the chicken but we asked to have it on the side, because my wife can’t handle heat very well, which they were able to do. The mac and cheese was pretty good but nothing particularly special. The garlic flat bread was tasty and garlicky. My fish fry was delicious. I particularly enjoyed the coconut fried squid which had a lovely mild jerk mayo and mango mole, and it was my first time having deep fried salmon which was nice and not too heavy. The fries were fine and well seasoned. Finally, I liked the sweet plantain. Certainly, better than the ones I tried to make at home. I love how you get a selection of nice condiments on your table and the service is very good. You could argue it was a little expensive but it wasn’t extortionate. I’d love to come back and try something else on the...
