Turtle bay was a place I always wanted to visit physically but I have ordered food from them online and it was their jerk chicken and rice and peas. I went here after my graduation with my friend and sister and I honestly loved it and my sister had a child so they got her child a comfortable sit . This is to show that it’s children friendly and they have special chairs for them. I honestly feel that they should employ more people in order to ease the stress of having just two people cater for all guests cause that made the service a bit slow. We got drinks and I can’t lie the drinks were too good and they had a promo where in if you buy one drink you would get another one for free meaning we had six all in total and I can’t lie that was too lush. If you ever go to turtle buy please never miss the drinks. For food I and my sister ordered a platter that came with chips but we ordered extra chips and they also have a kids menu and I found that thoughtful. My friend had the seafood curry goat and rice and peas and that had no taste tbh. It was not well seasoned and it tasted really bland and he couldn’t even eat it half way. My jerk chicken platter had seafood and other things in it but it tasted good and they have varieties of sauces that you can pick from and I like my food spicy so it was like a blessing to have sauces that had spice in it. My sister ordered a burger to take away and it was nice as well. The atmosphere of this place is bubbly and nice and so colorful sometimes it reminds me of Danfo Bistro back in Nigeria. The price for the 3 of us was like 70 pounds thereabout and that’s not bad for 3 people at all. Loved the experience .

My wife and I had lunch hear during our trip down in Liverpool. The restaurant is very well decorated, creating a nice Caribbean feel. The girl that served us was really good. She admitted that she didn’t know how good some of the dishes were because they had a brand spanking new menu. However, she was able to give good recommendations based what she knew. The menu is massive and I actually found it difficult deciding on what I wanted so she was very helpful. My wife got The Kingston fried chicken which came with Mac & Cheese and had garlic flat bread as a side. I had the fish fry with fries and also got sweet plantain as a side. Firstly, the chicken was great and had nice flavour. The hot sauce it came with piping hot but nice. The hot sauce was meant to be on top of the chicken but we asked to have it on the side, because my wife can’t handle heat very well, which they were able to do. The mac and cheese was pretty good but nothing particularly special. The garlic flat bread was tasty and garlicky. My fish fry was delicious. I particularly enjoyed the coconut fried squid which had a lovely mild jerk mayo and mango mole, and it was my first time having deep fried salmon which was nice and not too heavy. The fries were fine and well seasoned. Finally, I liked the sweet plantain. Certainly, better than the ones I tried to make at home. I love how you get a selection of nice condiments on your table and the service is very good. You could argue it was a little expensive but it wasn’t extortionate. I’d love to come back and try something else on the menu next time.

Step into Turtle Bay and you will be blown away by the decor and the feel for a Caribbean experience. But it stops at that. Unfortunately, the restaurant was noticeably understaffed with a waiter coming around once in a blue moon. However, our waiter was quite friendly and helpful with my allergies, though of course stressed that there was no guarantee that there would be no contamination. I highly recommend that this establishment makes greater efforts on service speed, as our table had far too much time to decide what to eat. In terms of food, it was rather plain and particularly unfilling, especially for its price. I assume the premium was due to the town location. My friends felt similarly, suggesting we should go somewhere for dessert after. I had an elderflower soft drink which was rather nice, but disappeared far too quickly as we waited for food. Overall, Turtle Bay was a good experience but not one I would repeat any time soon. The staff are friendly, but the two hours spent there felt like an eternity, even just waiting for someone to take our order.

The staff here are really attentive and lovely. The eating area and the bathrooms were very clean. The food I had wasn't great, and was expensive for the amount you got. I got the smashed avo and jerk mushroom on a roti, and it was tiny!! It was two slices of beef tomato and two mushrooms on a flatbread, for £8.60 I expected more. The jerk was rather overpowering too. Many people will come to Turtle Bay just to drink, their bottomless brunch is very popular, but it's a shame for people that don't drink alcohol or come to just enjoy the food as it's substandard for the price.

This is a lovely place, that does amazing Caribbean food, and nice two for one cocktails before 7pm. It had an absolutely lovely vibe, and I appreciated that it was quiet when we went on a Monday evening. I’d particularly recommend the seasoned chips and the katsu curry, which were absolutely amazing. The zombie cocktails are great too. The service was excellent, and the place has a great vibe generally. It’s also perfectly situated next to the famous Cavern club. The service was also great, and the waiters were very friendly. I’d absolutely recommend this place!

My friends and I had two lovely experiences at Turtle Bay this week! The atmosphere was electric, though even as three not-yet-middle-aged people, we felt quite old in there! The food was excellent and pretty unique, and we were similarly impressed by the service. One waitress in particular was incredibly hospitable and genuine (don’t know her name, but she’s a Nursing student), and after some slow service on the second night due to a packed house, we were even given our drinks for free! We will definitely return next time we’re in Liverpool.
