Wanted to go here for ages so finally jumped in one Saturday in May when my parents were visiting the city (it's taken me a long time to do this review, but better late than never!). With no booking they were able to seat us quickly and with the warmest welcome. The restaurant is very small and has a lovely atmosphere, very laid back and comfortable. Everything we ordered was delicious and interesting, from the pineapple and fruit punches we started with (surprisingly spicy!) to the starter platter (the mutton is lovely, but quite hot!). For main course we had a selection of jerk chicken strips, rice and peas, festivals and a roti, on the owner's recommendation my dad had the standard jerk whereas my mum and I had a "softened" jerk/BBQ mix, which was the perfect level of spice for us! The tamarind sauce was also delicious on the side of everything! If you haven't had festivals before then I definitely recommend trying them as they were the perfect addition to dip in the sauces, with their slight sweetness off-setting the spice! We couldn't get near finishing everything, but they were more than happy to give us boxes to take away all the leftovers (which did me another delicious meal the next day!). Basically, I cannot rate this place highly enough! Everything we ordered was perfect, the staff were incredibly friendly (mother and daughter, I think) and the atmosphere was fun and friendly, with great music in the background. I can't wait to go back again!

An Absolute Gem – A Must-Visit in Liverpool! I visited Mahoe Blue Jamaican Restaurant last week and was honestly blown away. From the moment we walked in, the vibes were immaculate — warm, welcoming, and full of energy. A classy restaurant with a family like aura! The food and drinks were absolutely amazing — full of authentic flavour and clearly made with love. When we arrived (just two hours after opening), we were surprised to see that a lot of items were already sold out — but after trying what was available, it made perfect sense. The quality was unmatched, and everything we had was so delicious. The drinks were also spot on and paired perfectly with the food. It’s rare to find a place that delivers such a genuine taste of the Caribbean in the UK, and Mahoe Blue nails it. I’ll definitely be back on my next trip to Liverpool, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting or living in the city. Go early if you want the full menu — trust me, it’s worth it!

10/10. Easily the tastiest, most authentic feeling Jamaican food I’ve tasted. The oxtail and curry goat were soft and juicy, plantain was ripe, sweet and cooked to perfection. The lady in charge took the time to explain the menu and answer any questions about flavours, especially the tamarind bites. She had such a nice, friendly woman with a kind, warm aura about her. Festivals - crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. If you don’t break one up, slide it in the gravy and eat it with the plantain and meat on top, you’re missing out. The rum punch was top tier, I didn’t want it to end. Had a terrible day at work and honestly felt so much better after eating here. Will 100% be returning.

So my first time hear, so before I started I am a fussy eater, and I could not abide by greasy food. So let me begin, I ordered 2 jerk chicken fillets, 1 saltfish aki, 2 portions of festivals, 2 plain rice, all our mains. Just me and my son Jay, my other son Aniice ordered curry goat, and peas and rice, we got chicken wings bbq as a starter and Curry goad skewers, and believe me the food was absolutely to die for, first of all, I was worried over the festivals being greasy but the beautiful waitress reasured me "no there fine" and so right she was, the salt fish aki just melts in your mouth, so full of flavour not to hot just right. The curry goat was dropping off the fork as it should be, so soft and tender and very flavoursome, spices all right not to much not to little just right. The jerk chicken breast must of been a large one because I ended up bringing some food home lol, was beautifully flavoured again not to much of anything just right for all pallets, and the curry goat skewers again where so beautiful. The food when it comes looks like small portions but oh no there is more than enough in them small pots, well there not really small they just look that way to me the food is served in a dish that looks like a coconut shell. But more than enough believe me, now I'm told the lady cooking the food is using family recipes that have been handed down throw the ages. Pure sole food cooked with love, and great for these cold winter nights. Beautiful food if I could give this place a 10-star review then hear it is. Value for money food portions very generous and service so nice, atmosphere relaxing, lovely music and relaxing even though I wanted to get up and dance and they served alcoholic drinks also but I didn't drink but they looked lovely. The place is clean and warm and so welcoming. The best time to go is thrown the week I went tonight Friday 20 October 2923, just off the cuff. I was there when they open the door, they had a booking of 8 which took up all tables on the lower floor, there is a side bench with seating for 4 more people and then by the till there is a table for 2 and opposite another table for two and a wall bench for 4. It's best to book at weekends as very busy, but if you have to wait it's worth it. My new Jamaican restaurant, it small family run and lovely. Thank you to all the staff and my compliments...
