Milo Lounge on Lark Lane is an effortlessly cool spot that strikes the perfect balance between quirky charm and laid-back comfort. From the moment you walk in, the decor grabs your attention – think vintage wallpaper, retro lampshades, and mismatched chairs that somehow just work together. It's got that cozy, lived-in vibe that makes you want to settle in for hours, whether you’re catching up with friends or flying solo with a coffee. The food? Impressive across the board. The tapas menu is a winner – we sampled a spread of dishes including crispy chicken skewers, patatas bravas, and halloumi with sweet chilli dip, and honestly, every plate was packed with flavour and beautifully presented. It’s ideal for sharing, or if you're just indecisive like me and want a bit of everything. Now let’s talk about the kids’ burger meal. Calling it a “kids’” meal feels like a stretch – this thing was huge. Easily the size of an adult portion, served with a generous helping of fries. It’s rare to see a kids’ meal that doesn’t feel like a rip-off, so full marks to Milo Lounge for that. Service was friendly and relaxed, adding to the welcoming vibe of the place. Whether you’re in the mood for brunch, a casual dinner, or a tapas-fuelled evening, Milo Lounge delivers with style. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like a regular even if it’s your first visit.

When we first arrived, the booking we had placed was not on the booking sheet the staff had. Luckily, they were able to seat us anyways. We ordered drinks to the table which were lovely and came relatively quickly after we had ordered through the QR code. We then ordered 2 boards of tapas. These took 25 minutes to arrive! We were then offered 2 side plates between the 5 of us for these, which of course wasnt sufficient so we asked for one each. These were brought down and we enjoyed each of the tapas plates. Only note would be there was not enough bread/nachoes to go with these. We had ordered our mains before the tapas came in hopes there wouldnt be much of a wait time. We waited an hour before our mains arrived. From the first main arrived, until we had all items we had ordered, it had been 20 minutes. One meal came without a side, an extra side hadnt arrived and a full main dish was missing when we were asked if we had everything we needed. Of course, we informed them of this and after a further 10 minutes this was rectified. Our tapas boards were also cleared at this point and after asking 3 times our cutlery was replaced. We all enjoyed our food after we eventually got it to the table however the service and wait time put a negative spin on our family reunion and I would not return again.

Lovely place that we went to after being in Sefton park with our dog! The sun was shining so milo lounge had the windows opened looking out in to the street. The menu was so good it was hard for us to pick food. They had a lovely dog area tucked away in the corner with dog bowls, fresh water and some dog treats. I got the chicken Kiev burger with garlic and Parmesan chips and my partner got the halloumi bits and beef quesadillas from the tapas menu and a small mac and cheese. Omg the food was AMAZING!! Would recommend the chicken kiev burger if you’re a fan of garlic butter( who isn’t!). The halloumi bits were nice and came with a spicy chilli jam. The beef quesadillas was also really good! Mac and cheese was a very good simplistic Mac and cheese and sometimes it’s the simple things that are better! Everything came out pipping hot! Would definitely come again for more tapas!!

This was my second visit and both times haven’t been the best experience. My most recent visit will definitely be my last. I’m sure a lot of people have had a good experience here but this place isn’t to my liking. Atmosphere is very chaotic. The issues I had.

Card machine wasn’t working, so we could either pay by cash, or by using the QR code. No signal in area we were seated, and had to connect to the wifi, which took quite a while as the connection was very bad. Have to sign up for their mailing list in order to connect to wifi just so we can order (very very tedious) Dog sat directly on tables, I understand this is a dog friendly restaurant however I wasn’t aware of how dog friendly. I love dogs but even I was very uncomfortable being in this restaurants. I witnessed a dog seated on top of the table, which is very very unhygienic in my opinion, especially since moments later my water came and placed my cutlery directly on to the table, all I could think about was the dogs butt on the table, I felt physically sick, I’m sure they clean the table after every use but regardless that image was stuck with me. Staff saw this and didn’t say anything Another dog pet peeve, but I had someone else’s dog run up to me and jump up at me whilst I was eating. I don’t dislike dogs but when I’m eating I don’t want a dog jumping on me, especially at a restaurant Maybe being picky on this last one, but if you sit in the back (indoors) be mindful that the door to the smoking area is kept open and is right next where people are sitting , so you will be surrounded by a cloud of smoke. We were sitting a couple of metres from the back door and yet could smell the smoke from outside Had little to no interaction with staff besides to hand us the menu, tell us about the card machine and to give us our food, didn’t speak to the staff at all. Staff seem...

We are a couple who popped in for some brunch and planned for our friends to meet us there. It wasn't very busy when we arrived and placed our order but started to fill up while we were there. We were greeted at the door with a nice smile and told to take a seat. We were told we could order online from the table or head to the bar. The table we sat at was clean, as were all the other available tables. We decided to order from the table for ease. Two cold drinks, a big all day breakfast and a chicken flatbread with some chips. 20 minutes went by with no drink. My partner enquired at the bar to which the woman at the bar apologised and assured us the drinks would be right over. 5 minutes later the drinks appear with another apology and an offer for another drink on the house if we wanted one. That was appreciated. We then proceeded to wait even longer for our food. Another enquiry from my partner to the waitress and the food comes out a few minutes later. The breakfast was huge, good value for money but parts of it were burnt. Especially the bacon, some of it was inedible. The flatbread was tasty and a good portion size. Basically we think they forgot our order as it was made online. Other tables who had come in and ordered after us were recieving their orders first. Our friends were meeting us but we decided not to stay at Milo lounge and moved on to another bar. Overall the service was polite and I understand people make mistakes but it unfortunately made the experience unenjoyable for us. I would go back for a drink in future but not...

The food is the main thing that gives it away that this is a chain as you can sense the lack of love that goes into it. The staff are lacking in enthusiasm and would clearly rather be elsewhere. On my last 2 visits they have missed things off the kids meal and I've had to ask for it, but still it's not been as advertised, and no apology or explanation/substitutions offered. I used to be a fan of the sherbet lemonade here but I think they've changed the recipe to cut costs or the staff need more training because it's tasted like dirty dish water the last few times. And for a place that loves to put everything in a separate container on your plate (beans in a metal cup, chips in a cup), I was shocked to discover that the kids pancakes came drenched in a bitter blackcurrant sauce. Surely if there's ever a time to separate something it's on the kids menu. My little girl would love the sauce if she could dip it but her whole plate was swimming in sauce and she ended up leaving 90% of the meal. The crudités promised were missing the peppers and breadsticks and the dry carrots delivered were sticking out of the hummus which she doesn't like so therefore she wouldn't eat them either. Definitely won't be going back, it's too expensive, and I would rather give my money to one of the lovely independent places on the road where everything is made and...
