P&D Gran Caffe Duke Street — Restaurant in Liverpool

Lovely cafe but please get more staff. I've now been three times, the poor guy at the counter is running around like a madman (which makes guests feel nervous as well), tables not cleaned, takeaway cups given to sit inside (yay to single use plastic I guess?). I have returned because the first time the food was amazing if slow, the second time the food was good and the service was slow and rushed, the third time I took guests and it felt like Armageddon - running around, poorly made food, cakes were clearly from the previous day, plastic cups for drinks. Tables dirty and wobbly

Though everyone is lovely I was embarrassed I took my friends there and after the usual wait for the food when nothing arrived together, it was a shame.

Please get more staff, or at least train your staff to handle the choice of understaffing with more composure rather than frantically bobbing around. I've worked in service and almost wanted to jump behind the bar and...

Amazing cakes and I like the app for the loyalty card. Was really good when it first opened changed a bit now. Staff have changed and they don't welcome you now and the food has changed too. I went just over a week ago and asked for a menu as they did really good croissants with eggs Benedict and things, was told they have focaccia now. It was the driest, most miserable thing I've ever eaten. It came toasted which was like eating dry powder so they changed it and the untoasted one was dry and had zero flavour. Tiniest scrap of meat. The latte was too hot really, and they used to layer it, which was a nice touch, they don't bother now. Shame, because I really liked it at first, I'd still go to get cakes, they make...

Stopped for a quick cappuccino that was nice and ended up ordering two and a chorizo croissant that the manager had previously offered to me, as a sugestion, in case I'd like to order something, eventually doing so and he was right. Although the baked dough was more a perfect round shaped Yorkshire pudding than a French croissant, it was very nice and tasty and all ingredients blended nicely together, including the lightly seasoned salad, making it an ideal light lunch to keep my day going.
