Pattersons — Restaurant in Liverpool

This place has appealed to me for a while due to the fun, hearty pop culture aesthetic of it. Needless to say I was very impressed with the amazing food, chill atmosphere and incredibly friendly staff. The issues we found however were food took a while to arrive to our table, a couple items were initially not written down in our order and we were slightly charged wrong. Don’t let these issues affect your view of this great place though, since we found all of them were quickly corrected by staff who were very apologetic. Now the main thing which we loved, the food. Everything was cooked incredibly hot, juicy, tender, along with tasting deliciously seasoned. When u ask for your chicken spicy here they will listen to you. The spicy fried chicken as mentioned and non spicy chicken are greatly filling, they will give any chicken place a run for their money. in our case this time the food easily beat any other fast food of a similar genre. Alongside this the variety in sides and sauces is very tasty and perfectly crisped and seasoned. I find it great how a place like this known for American oriented food. Will have something like salt and pepper fries, which taste better than many other establishments version of it. It’s important to mention for those conscious about the spending, all the portions are very large, fairly priced and filling. You’re going to get your moneys worth whether it’s through food, (or the soothing strawberry smoothie I got). Before I get onto the food, One of the best things about this place is the service and the staff, I have an severely autistic son who at times can be loud and challenging, But the team at Pattersons ALWAYS go out of their way to make sure that he always feels welcome and comfortable along with reserving his favourite table every time we ask regardless of the tie of day and how busy the place is, So a big thanks to ,Declan, Matty and Nat the chef as food is always fantastic,

Myself I’m a lover of their 500gms deep fried chicken, Perfectly moist juicy chicken thighs that have been brined for at least 24 hours, with what is obviously an excellent blend of seasoning as they ABSOLUTELY BLOW ANYTHING THAT ( kfc) has ever had to offer OUT OF THE WATER,

The rest of the family ADORES the dirty fries, Katsu curry chicken chopped over perfectly cooked skin on fries , and salt & pepper Sui Mia with bbq Chinese sauce mmmm

The sides are amazing especially the onion rings ( BEST AROUND ANYWHERE IN LIVERPOOL)

The chicken wings are juicy and tasty

Had very high hopes. Service was good, starters were great. Really loved the mac and cheese and the chicken tenders and the k pops. However, the main reason we came here was for the fried chicken. We got a 1kg bucket and it was extremely underwhelming. Lack of seasoning, tasted like old grease, chewy and stringy chicken. We heard so much hype and good stuff about this place but we felt like we walked into the ghost of pattersons. Staff were all bubbly and happy when we got there just as it opened but as the first few orders were given out they seemed deflated and defeated. Other customers also requested takeaway and quickly left after receiving their food and it felt like the staff knew something was up. The staff doing service were great though, understanding and trying their best to deliver good service despite the overall not so great food being given out. Overall, we came for the fried chicken and the fried chicken is the reason why we will never return. Was not the experience we had learnt about in our research before the visit.
