There appears to be a proliferation of Thai chains springing up recently. That can only be a good thing - I’m all for more Thai Food.

Seen a few of these Rosa’s Thai places dotted about the country and this week, staying at the Albert Dock, seemed as good an opportunity as any to give them a go.

The premises themselves will be familiar to anyone who’s eaten in the dock before - split level, with brick ceilings and dockside views. A lot of flagstones. The vibe is industrial and timeless.

Visited on a Sunday night and seated immediately, without a reservation - a good start. The beer is Singha, pints of Singha - as it was and as it should be.

The menu is extensive, but not overwhelming. I wanted to try something new and novel to start, so I opted for the prawn doughnuts - this was an excellent choice for they were full of pillowy soft minced prawn, enveloped in a crispy ring. I liked this a lot and would eat these again - the flavours were excellent, the concept timeless. Well done.

For a main, the classic pad kra pao - this had a good level of spice. Not as fiery as Thai Modern in Milton Keynes, but certainly up there. A good measure of chilli. Particularly pleased that the rice came topped with a crispy fried egg - like the fox, I love an egg with my meal.

Overall, this was a good experience and certainly this is a restaurant I would recommend you try if you visit the Albert Dock - I think next time I visit I’d like to try the Green Curry, which should be fearsomely spicy if the three-chilli rating is to be believed. Spice is good for the antlers, so they...

We dined here Saturday night and the food was OK nothing spectacular. Price was ok. Table service was better than average staff were friendly. There were two major issue firstly i was 2/3 way through my main and then found a very long black hair. Felt quite sick after this but refrained from complaining. The worst issue was I went to the unisex toilet and waited as the door was locked, then a member of kitchen staff (a young man) left the toilet with his blue gloves on so he had clearly not washed his hands and he had just touched the door and lock with the same gloves then continued to walk to the kitchen. This is a health risk and to be honest we’ll never go back after that meal it just didn’t seem as hyped as people make out instead we left feeling a bit let down. Staff are friendly for sure, but please don’t just add the 10% service charge without checking. I went to tip and the server said its already included AFTER i’d paid contactless without looking at the bill. So felt a bit stupid for doing that and a bit angered. Anyways, i hope this reaches management and the staff member is retrained about health and cleanliness check your cameras from Saturday night between 4:20 and 4:40 when i think i went the toilet, i noticed your security camera is pointing right at the toilet door so thought i would mention it, it was the left hand...

Was here on Monday the 30th June at around 17:30 It was busy at about 80% occupancy but we were seen to professionally and quickly We ordered our drinks and food The food came in about 8 mins but was fresh which was good as we were very hungry My brother ordered the chicken pad Thai and I ordered another dish with chicken and prawns Both dishes were nice and staff noticed my brother only had a little left in his drink and asked if he wanted another drink which is always nice Few drawbacks were Upon receiving the bill there was a 12.5% service charge Now I don’t know if that’s in line with other units at the Albert dock but I felt that was a little high. Could just be me being tight! My brother enjoyed his pad Thai however from being in Thailand 3 times in the last 3 years we felt the pad Thai was a little bit sweeter than what we’ve had in Thailand FYI I did try it also. Fanta on the menu was Ā£3.45 and upon receiving it I received a can of Fanta and a glass with ice I know Albert dock is a nice Commercialised area But when you account the service charge on top of the Ā£3.45 that’s literally paying Ā£3.85 for a can of pop At least get some soft drinks on tap/draught All in all we did enjoy our time here and would...

Really, really great service. Our Thai host had us laughing and in a good mood by really encouraging our menu choices which honestly made such a fun difference to the vibe. Food was an absolutely fantastic affair. I started with some pumpkin crackers ("yes! Pumpkin darling") and sweet chilli sauce as a pleasant alternative to prawn. They were fresh and warm with the expected crisp, but next time I'll go back to the prawnies. The moo ping ("wow excellent pronunciation, yessss") skewers were delicious. Tasty pork with a tamarind sauce dip. I went for a Pad Thai ("ooh good choice!), which was cooked to perfection, although the extra fried egg ("yesss get that egg!") sadly was well overdone and solid. The only letdown of the evening. I also had a boozy Thai lemon iced tea ("oh alcohol, go for it!!), which I'd strongly recommend. Essentially iced tea with rum in, in a mason jar. I've oversimplified what was a really delicious and refreshing drink. Too full for desserts. Will have to come back, what a shame! This could very well be the best Thai place in Liverpool.

I was here for lunch on a Tuesday. Rosa’s is the dependable Thai restaurant and I’ve visited them all over the UK while traveling for work and leisure. I ventured to a local competitor in the last city and it was a disaster. Never again. That being said, this location was my worst experience to date with Rosa’s (though it still earned a 4 star rating). The service was good, as is the location along the dock. Even the Drunken Noodles were as good as ever (even if the portion seemed a little smaller than usual). My complaint (all be it a minor one) involved the fresh summer rolls. I had been thinking about them for a day or two and couldn’t wait to get them. When they came they were about a 1/3 smaller than usual. Had been thinking of them as the main, glad I ordered them as the starter instead. Still tasty, just smaller. Also, they were delivered with the mains and not as the starter.
