ZERO STARS!!! THE MOST IRRITABLE AND POOREST SERVICE IâVE EVER EXPERIENCED IN MY LIFE!
I am so appalled and very disappointed in this restaurant and I would never advise anyone to go there ever!
Let me start by saying I made a dinner reservation for 20 guest for 27th of June 2024 which was my graduation day, I made this reservation on 20th of May 2024 online using Dojo from their website and received a confirmation via mail. I felt compelled to call this restaurant afterwards to reconfirm my reservation and when I did, I was told there was no record of such reservation. The lady I spoke to asked me to text her on WhatsApp and send evidence of my reservation, when I did this, she then told me to make the booking I have to pay a ÂŁ50 deposit and thatâs their policy for more than 10 guests. She sent an account number to make this payment and the name on the account didnât specify â805 restaurantâ instead the account name was âThe GATEKEEPERS ENTLTDâ so I didnât make payment to avoid a scam.
I then decided to go into the 805 restaurant in Hendon to inform them of this. I was told that was their correct account details but I can proceed to make payment with my card as I was already there in person. I made the ÂŁ50 deposit and they wrote my name and phone number in a book then stapled the receipt to the page on their book. I asked that I would not want my guests to wait for long when they arrive and they advised that to avoid this, I should call a day before coming after looking through their menu and make our orders to reduce the waiting time when we arrive. I also asked that a specific section of the restaurant be reserved for us and they agreed to this.
I called the Hendon restaurant on 26/06/2024, a day before coming as advised and I spoke to someone who took down our order. I was on the phone for over 5 minutes detailing our appetisers/starters and main dishes. He took all these down and reconfirmed our reservation time for 6:30-7pm 27/06/2024.
On my event day, we planned to proceed to the restaurant from my school after my graduation. Around 6:43pm, the restaurant called my phone to ask âhow many of us were comingâ I paid no attention and told them I booked for 20 guests already and we were almost there. Some of my guests got to the restaurant before me and they were not allowed to seat immediately. My parents got to the restaurant before me and they were kept waiting. On getting to the restaurant myself, I saw that my guests were seated in a different part of the restaurant than where I had reserved. I spoke to the two waiters on ground and they told me they were not aware of my booking. I was appalled by this and immediately asked to see the manager, I was told the manager was not around! My guests calmed me down and said they would remain where they were seated. I then saw that they had not been offered the menu or even water, the candles were not lit, they were not been attended to, nothing was going on. The two waiters apologised and they brought out their menu. I asked what happened to the food I had ordered the day before and I was told they were not aware of that. This got me really angry as I said I made this reservation weeks ago and called the day before to order just to avoid all these wait. The waiters said they were not informed of the booking nor orders made. I went to the counter and asked them to confirm this in their book. They did that and one of them then brought out his pen and book to retake our orders while my guests were waiting with nothing on the table! This process was taking about 30mins as the waiter was so slow! so my friend stood up and took everyoneâs order and relayed that to the waiter. She asked for platter for starter and we were told they didnât have platters (which was part of what I had ordered the day before!) they said theyâd bring lamb suya. We waited another 30 mins before this lamb suya came, they brought some bottles of coke and 3 bottles of water. All these were so slow and my guests were eating the lamb suya in anger.

We were so annoyed with the poor service! Another 30 mins and still no food! My fiend asked why and we were told to wait as they were trying to bring out all the meals at the same time. We kept waiting. All these while, other people were being served, delivery drivers came in to take other peopleâs orders, waiters were attending to their people while we kept waiting! Around after 9pm my guest got so angry and kept asking what was happening! we were still told to wait. We kept asking for the manager and were told there was no manager on ground. At this point everyone was so upset and they stood up to leave!
I was so embarrassed, I broke down in tears and my family was tying to console me. The chef then came out from inside and said the meals were served and theyâre bringing it out but all my guest were outside already. I tried explaining to her from the very beginning when I made this reservation and all my efforts to avoid long waiting for my guests and see how embarrassing the whole situation turned out. My guests leff in anger without eating after waiting for over 2 hours! They were asking us to pay for what the lamb suya they ate and my friends reminded them I made a deposit when I made my reservation and weâre not paying for anything else not after the way we were treated. We all left there angry and disappointed!
I have never been treated this way in my life! If Iâm paying for a service, I have a level of expectation and really 805 restaurant Hendon is the worse place I have ever been and it was such a disaster to have ruined my graduation and annoy my guests and turn my day sour!
I will never go there again in my life and I donât advice anyone to as I have no other adjective to qualify such a disappointment and...

My family and I booked a table and the lighting the setting holds is so dim! My parents had to use flashlights to see their menus đ! As for the pricing of these dishes available, snails for ÂŁ28 is daylight robbery in my opinion⌠we did get puff puff on the house due to a few of their food not being accessible, though, they werenât soft. They were a mix of puff puff and buns - we werenât a fan.
For starters, we ordered beef suya and chicken suya, the lamb wasnât available âšď¸ they were nice, but, the chicken did have a lot of bones. Now our mains! My parents each ordered egusi with pounded yam, one with goat meat and one with beef. The goat meat was NOT NICE! We donât now if it wasnât cleaned properly, but it wasnât halal. The taste was not it. The egusi was mediocre too. Luckily they blessed the soups with stock fish! My brother and I both got the Monika Croaker Fish with a side of plantain and salad. The bones in this fish ehhhh! Chai! I was choking for the first few minutes. Well thatâs the consequence of eating fish I guess. It was nice but nothing amazing, everything they gave us was not thrilling- I was expecting more âšď¸
One of the servers seemed nervous but it was nice as my mum was teasing him kindly. Very funny! He set a nice atmosphere and gave his opinions on a few of the dishes the restaurant served. In the end we ended up full and left. I donât know if it was just this branch of the 805 restaurants but to make this fair, I probably need to try their other...
