This cute little restaurant had been on my list for a while, and I was excited to finally check it out. The area itself is lovely, surrounded by plenty of great restaurants from different cuisines, it’s such a nice spot to be in. We were seated at the counter, which was really cozy, and even though the place was extremely busy, the customer service was great and very prompt. Parking was convenient with residential spaces nearby, and our evening reservation was handled smoothly. Price-wise, it was surprisingly reasonable, we expected it to be more expensive. The restaurant itself is simple inside, nothing too fancy. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite live up to expectations. I had the chicken curry, which was quite dry, and my friend’s ramen lacked flavour. The tea, however, was lovely. Overall, it’s worth checking out once, but I don’t see myself returning for...

Giving it only 4 stars for food as there were a few dishes that were a bit disappointing: the batter for the agadeshi tofu tasted like paper and was quite starchy, the sauce of the kyuri wakame was too salty and didn’t need sesame oil and there was too much sauce in the oyakodon - the rice was soaked in soup. They could also add a bit more ginger to the rolls as the amount of ginger they served was very little.
Otherwise, the chicken karaage, tempura, special sushi rolls and sashimi were all great (in addition to being beautifully presented). And I love the fact they have nebeyaki udon!

Read moreJust wanted to share my amazing experience at Ajimi, a Japanese restaurant in Acton. It was my first time here, and I went with two friends. The service was top-notch, and we tried a variety of dishes. The sashimi was fresh and delicious, the pork katsu curry was flavorful, the tempura udon was comforting (if you want the tempura 🍤 to be crispy, make sure to ask to keep it separate from the udon when they serve), the softshell crab special rolls and the takoyaki was a delightful treat. 🍣🍛🍜👍
To top it all off, we enjoyed some Dassai Junmai Daiginjo sake with our sashimi, which was the perfect pairing. 🍶They also have a variety of drinks choices, so there's a good pick of both soft and alcoholic drinks for everyone. 🫖
🔍 If you're in the Acton area and craving authentic Japanese cuisine, Ajimi is a must-visit!...
