I was surprised with the good reviews. I have been there last night with a party of 5, the restaurant was absolutely empty and no one came in the whole time we were there. There’s only a tiny electric heater in the corner which made the place not very cosy to say the least. We ordered starters, panang curry with chicken, pad thai with prawns and another one with chicken and 2 egg fried rices. The pad thai wasn’t edible, as other reviews stated, we all tried it and no one could eat it, it had the most horrible taste (like wet dog 😅) and the noodles where so chewy and thin. when we told the lady she said that was the original recipe and it was up to us if we didn’t like it. All of us have had pad Thai before and some of us been to Thailand and never had such a bad pad Thai. As we saw that we weren’t going to get the expected service and just wanted to eat, we ordered an extra curry and rice and didn’t touch the pad Thais but were still charged for both of them full price. The total bill it was £123.55 it seems unreasonable and really bad costumer service that we didn’t at least get some discount on the Pad Thais. The curry’s flavour was decent but as mentioned in other reviews apart from the chicken each brought like two pieces of frozen green beans and no more veggies. The bill comes written by hand and it’s impossible to identify what is in there. We paid the total but after paying asked that we wanted to at least understand what we were paying for and we were arrogantly ignored. We had to request this several times and received a new hand written bill but at least this time we...
Read moreHad the most fantastic meal at Aroy Thai with my husband for our anniversary date! Delicious, authentic and flavoursome Thai food. Highly recommend if you’re an Actonian, and if you’re not, it’s 100% worth the journey. Friendly and informative service in a super relaxing and clean environment. We felt extremely relaxed as soon as we sat down - this place is a little oasis of calm just off the main Hugh street. There is also a separate ‘specials’ menu for local Thai speciality dishes. The food is halal, minus pork dishes which are cooked entirely separately from all other items. It’s amazing to have this halal Thai restaurant in Acton. Will be...
Read moreI don't know why this restaurant can get so many 5 stars, is it all friends giving the rating? I order a Pad Thai and pho, and they are just sooooooooo disappointing. The one star is for the drink, at least I still can taste it was an iced tea (Thai milk tea). Especially for the pho, I suppose that it was not spicy and it actually was so hot that I felt my stomach hurt. There are no chilli symbol on the menu next to the pho, how come? The pad Thai, I can only say it is food, especially the day before I ate a pad Thai in Hammersmith was so delightful, this one was just....to fill the stomach. I must not come again, and I will ask my friend...
