This restaurant was by far the worst middle eastern restaurant we have ever been to. As a middle eastern I am dissapointed and embarrassed by the quality of their food and customer service in relation to the extremely inflated and unreasonable pricing. Customer service was absaloutly horrible no one asked us if we wanted any drinks upon seating ect, had to wait more than half an hour for the starters and still no drinks even after the starters had arrived, not even water. The starters were good however one of the waiters with glasses and a black t-shirt was very unproffessional and condescending. Whilst we were eating the starter he saw fit to remind us that this was "just the stater" as if to say that we had never been to a restaurant and that we were eating too much. The wait between the starter and the main was astronomical, I could have finished my dissertation in the time we had waited. It was clear that seeing as our appearance comes across as quite young (although two of us are adults), they would not take us seriously and frankly we felt disrespected and taken advantage of. I'm almost completely sure that the price we paid and the food given didn't match up. The servers had told us that they were only serving the set menu however every table around us that had arrived after was given a menu which is substantially cheaper. The main portion size for three people was a single medium sized plate of meat (as seen in the image below). If it had been three grown men it would definitely not have been acceptable at all. I was in such shock I had to double check that all the food had indeed arrived. They did not even bring any bread to eat with the meat. They were not honest at all. The meat itself was below average, not fresh (the chicken), and flavour less. To top it all the Baclava was stale, old, and hard as a rock. I would NOT reccomend this restuarant to my worst enemy. All in all, we paid a little less than £100 for the three os us. I never ever write reviews but I feel so deeply offended and disrespected that I felt it was absolutely necessary to...
Read moreDO NOT GO HERE!!! Unless you want to experience the worst food and service. If there was a way to give zero or negative stars, I would have done so. This is not a joke, feel free to read on and maybe also read other similar experiences from other diners.
Absolute rubbish service and the food is bland, not authentic Lebanese, overcooked, with portion sizes to rival a kids meal. Nothing was seasoned, and after you realise that the worst kebab shop is better than this.
It took over 40mins between each course to get food, they didn’t clear up plates until we asked, they never once asked us how our food was, they burnt the meat. We had to keep flagging down a waiter/waitress to order drinks, starters and mains. Even had to ask them to give us plates so that we can eat. Staff do not listen to either special allergy requests nor do they care about correcting their mistakes. This is beyond unprofessional a
We went on a day when it was so quiet, there was more staff than customers. The staff are more interested in gossiping with each other than to provide even the most basic of service.
It’s quite telling of a restaurant when the fruit drinks taste better than the food. It’s even more when I would prefer porridge over whatever they served to me. Meat is not meant to be cooked till it’s hard as rocks and dry as bone, but this is what you will get. Many of our mains were also burnt or felt like rubber.
When we told then that we won’t pay the service charge as they don’t deserve it and gave them compelling reasons, they started to bully us, and even threatened to lock us in.
If you watched Amy’s Baking Company from Kitchen Nightmares, then you will know that you’re going to be served trash with a rubbish service. You have...
Read moreA long day at Excel and none of the eating options on site really lit my fire. Inside the exhibition hall was the usual burgers and hotdogs, cheek by jowl on crowded benches. Quick and easy but in truth disappointing fare.
So the show finished and the need to eat rumbled over my stomach. So a 500 metre walk westwards to “looksee”. Almost immediately a large sign on a well lit welcoming establishment says “Lebanese Restaurant”. I headed for it straight away knowing I couldn’t go wrong.
A warm friendly welcome and we were led to our seats being asked if we had any allergies (we’re old - so that’s a no then). A great menu of mezzo, various starters and grilled mains or vegetarian options. As ever I’m overwhelmed by choice and it’s a small plate starter followed by a grilled lamb option (sorry I can’t remember but it tasted lovely and as my mum would have said the plate was full of colour) see photo without smellovision mmmmm.
So wonderful service and great food. Ideal for the short late lunch we needed. Points to note: the restaurant doesn’t have an alcohol licence. Not a problem as they are happy for you to pop over the road to a local convenience store and bring your own in. Funnily enough it drove us down the route of Turkish Tea - very pleasant. And in the small print it notifies you of an optional 12.5% service charge. They did a great job and we left it on there.
If this helps you make a spur of the moment choice then I’m sure you will enjoy it as...
