Bonnane Pizzeria — Restaurant in London

To give you a backstory, we are residents of the apartments above the restaurant and quite often order takeaways and this was our first visit to the restaurant. The place was quite busy and so we were happy to wait and found a table for ourselves after a bit. We waited for 10 minutes and called out to the host 3-4 times in that period to help us with our order, with her acknowledging us everytime but not actually coming over to help. In the same period of time, a table besides us who arrived after was served with their drinks and their order taken. We were taken aback by the service and got up to leave, as soon as we did suddenly the host came over to clean out table and carry on with her work as normal. Without so much as offering to help. when we confronted her, all she said was sorry we are crowded and if you wanted the menu / wanted to order you should have walked inside. This was pretty shocking as we saw everyone around us had their orders taken and waited upon. I wonder if they would have treated us differently if our race was the same as the other table whom they were happy to serve. Can't believe in this age, things like these happen to us and the staff is not even trained to treat...

Although the place does good food and usually is a pleasant place to be, there are times when they need to work on their customer service. I’ve been a regular for 3 years. Today I was halfway through a bite full of my breakfast when the waitress asked me to move tables so others could sit where I was. I was sitting at a 2 seater table and they wanted to accommodate a larger party coming in. Usually I would be fine helping out, however once food has been served and the person is eating it’s just rude to interrupt and relocate them as if they don’t have the same value as new customers. There was another person who was just about to leave and only had a coffee that would have made more sense to ask for this. Just a little more appreciation of customers you already have in the door that have paid and a little less greed to bring in new customers. This was the 2nd time they’ve done this to me which is why I felt it’s worth mentioning so they can read this and know that this isn’t acceptable customer service and improve. Looked like a pretty authentic pizzeria and they have a real pizza oven so I was expecting this to be a good place to stop for lunch. How wrong I was.

Service was not great, we waited for about 15 minutes and then I went inside to politely order as nobody was coming anywhere near our table. I was dismissed by the lady at the counter and told to sit down.

She did eventually come to take our order. When the food arrived it looked great, two pasta dishes and a pizza. They brought the starter out with the mains so nobody ate that as, you know, we had our mains now.

The pizza looked so good but tasted of nothing. It was fresh dough because I saw them bring it in and I saw the guys behind the counter putting it together but it tasted like warm cardboard.

One pasta dish was equally bland, no seasoning at all. The other one was decent and earned the one star on this review.

I'm not going to moan about being charged for a bottle of water that we never ordered or had. But I am going to moan about the service and the incredibly poor food. What a waste of...
