Disappointing Experience at 8slices Pizzeria I recently ordered a takeaway from 8slices Pizzeria, expecting a satisfying meal. However, the experience was a letdown. The pizza, which was advertised as being made with sourdough, tasted like it was made with regular yeast-fermented dough. Additionally, the chilly slices that were supposed to be on the pizza were nowhere to be found. To add to the disappointment, we were charged an extra £2 for some extra cheese on top, which seemed excessive and felt not worthy. And the Pizzas never looked like the ones in their pictures. Despite the friendly staff and the owner’s claims of authentic Italian heritage, the food did not live up to the hype. The garlic bread was the only redeeming factor, but overall, the visit was disappointing due to the misrepresentation of their menu items and the additional charges. It felt like the owner’s claims of authenticity were more of a marketing gimmick than a genuine reflection of the food or service.

I ordered a pudo pizza take out via online, there was a discount for first time customer. At first, I thought the toppings was a little bit less. As I was eating it, I actually thought the amount was spot on. The chef definitely knows his pizza! Pizza base was thin and with a slight chewy texture. I walked back to the hotel, and the pizza was slightly cool, however this was an external factor and my choice. I am sure the pizza would be extremely nice if I was eat in. Staffs were friendly, the collection time was slightly later than the agreed time. However I rather wait for a little so the pizza is fresh. Unfortunately I didn't eat in, so can't comment on atmosphere, it seems a cosy place. I will be back for an eat in meal.

A delightful surprise. A small restaurant on the waterfront with a restrained menu—unlike the pizza places on the main road. What you see in the menu is what you get—delicious handmade pizzas with top-class ingredients. The serving staff were friendly, patient, and helpful as we ordered and during the meal. We ordered four different pizzas and drinks. The pizza took time to arrive, but the view was incredible. Music was a pleasant backdrop, and we chatted while we waited. The pizza was fantastic. Someone else had the calzone, and I think we were all jealous—fat with sumptuous, oozing, cheesy filling. Good attention to our needs. They checked for any allergies at the start. We will return next time we're in the area.

So me and my spouse ordered a pizza & drink to share. Waitress asks “would you like anything else? Another drink or pizza?”. We politely decline.

5 minutes later - waitress brings the drink and asks “you sure you don’t want anything else? Not even starters?”. We politely decline again.

We are then asked again within a matter of 5 minutes “would you like anything else?”. We politely decline.

Within the next few MINUTES.. I think everyone gets the gist of where I’m going with this..

It’s understandable if they ask once or twice if we want to order more.. we were haggled like this SEVERAL times as if we were in bazaar. I say this without any exaggeration whatsoever, anyone in our shoes would feel the same.

I understand that all business have a prime objective of making money, but using such a strategy to literally force your customers to buy is just jaw-dropping & cheap. As much as we are aware of what polite & caring looks like, we are just as much aware as to what pushy & pressure tactics look like.

Anyone who actually uses this strategy under the guise of “politeness” or “caring” is rather disillusioned and needs to take a course on etiquette to be honest. At the end of the day, they will definitely lose customers who give importance to dining etiquette.

Edit: nice to see a response to the review from the owner though they still seem to fail to understand the concept of dining etiquette & acknowledge where they’re going wrong. We travel the world over from the west to the Far East and know exactly what good service looks like. Really hope the owners look into this to better themselves rather than take it as a an...

So this evening we randomly dined out at this restaurant as me and my husband were walking past. We ordered a pizza & drink to share as my husband had a snack just before we dined here. We were made to feel EXTREMELY uncomfortable about this!

We were literally asked several times if we wanted to order anything else. We understand that businesses are going through a tough time with the pandemic and now the economic crisis. However, the way they were haggling us felt like a very cheap business tactic.

To add insult to injury, we weren’t just asked by one member of staff, we had others serving us and asking the same! The pizza itself was nothing special. I would much rather prefer Franco Manca. One of the worst experiences of dining out!

I have no doubt this restaurant caters more to the large number of tourists in the area who would give in to these cheap business tactics. We went there purely for the scenic beauty whilst dining. All of that was watered down with this lowly attitude. We won’t be coming here again, it is most definitely a...
