Airline Cafe — Restaurant in London

I wouldn’t even give this place one star! They should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. This used to be a great American Styled diner with a real variety of food. I returned this evening 25/07/19 to find a rancid attitude from the lady serving who told me she would only take orders in 30 minutes time as they were very busy, even though both takeaway cycles were outside and there were only four people inside the whole establishment. It was comical. She had said the same to the people in front of me and we all said we were happy to wait 30 minutes. She then huffed at us all as if she didn’t want our custom and told us as a group it’s going to be 30 minutes (which nobody had a problem with). I ordered fish and chips to try and be easy on them, especially if they were having a bad day. Made my order at 21:06 and at 21:10 she slammed my plate down and said “you’re lucky, it’s ready already”. I had then been presented with two half pieces of fish that had been re-deep fried to an almost black colour, the inside was still mildly cool and the outside was solid and steaming. The chips had clearly been fried to order but this response led the two people waiting next to my table laugh and say, “we are glad we got takeaway with service like that”. The Custom House Area has very little choice for eateries and they tend to be overpriced with average to poor food quality. Despite this being a cafe it also falls into the category of being overpriced for average food at best. This is a big problem in London and it is no surprise that people are eating out less. The cafe is a short distance from the ExCeL and hotels. The decor is simple and the inside is reasonably clean. It seems that most of the items from the cafe are bought from the Nisa Local near to it. The menu is very large and confusing. However, there is a warning about prices rising, but it is unreasonable. Two burger meals cost close to £40 and are average at best. There is a table service and the servers are pleasant enough, but the prices are extortionate.
