My friend had spoken so highly of this place and I had really been looking forward to going, especially as it was a belated birthday treat. Although it took some time to be served, I didn't think it was that much of a big deal, We were eventually served by a young lady. When our food had finally arrived, I had to ask for cutlery. We weren't offered any drinks at all either. When our food arrived, two dishes looked very similiar, one of which we hadn't ordered. So, I asked if she could talk us through each one, she went off to check, but still seemed unsure when she told us. At this moment, I believe the manager/owner was no longer on the restaurant floor, which may have caused this confusion. But surely, the waitress should be able to differentiate between each dish, given that she was the one to take our order. I also asked for the sides which we had ordered, such as the plantain, coleslaw and hard food. I went up to the counter to ask, and was told that 'hard food isn't a side'. I said , 'that's what I was told'. Regardless, that is besides the point. None of the three items ever arrived at our table and no effort was made at all. I asked for the bill, that then took 25 minutes to arrive. I had to ask twice and even then, eventually the waiter looked at the dishes and made a calculation which was wrong and we were almost overcharged. The layout of the restaurant is lovely and I genuinely thought it would live up to the homely vibe, but I ended up feeling very frustrated and ended up going for pizza after, as all our dishes hadn't arrived. Judging by the other reviews, most people seem to have a better experience. Customer service was below average what you experience in London. The restaurant was not particular busy, so that definitely was not a factor. I travelled over an hour from South London to come to All Nations, but must say I was very disappointed. Especially as I would like to support my own. My friend said there is usually a waitress working there, who is very friendly and upbeat . Evidently, she was not...
Read moreDelicious Jamaican vegan food in East London! Stumbled upon here as i was looking to stick with veggie today. What a find!
I have tried Jamaican food back in NYC but I can't say I like them as it was very greasy and sugary (especially all the fried sweets). Not here at All Nations Vegan House, where food were home-made with fresh ingredients and spices.
I picked the pumpkin curry, cho cho (*trying it first time ever!) and the couscous with mixed peppers and peas. I loved them all, especially the pumpkin curry! Creamy and sweet with a nice spice kick to finish. The cho cho (official name choyte) was tasty too! And I like the texture - in between celtuce and zucchini (cooked). I shall look at the recipe and try to replicate at home :). Too bad the mushroom were out :/ next time!
Service were super friendly. The teenage shop keeper was super nice and patience with my question and even offered me a tasting before I decided on what I wanted. Extra half star for the service!
While this might not be a cheap bites, the quality and service definitely made up for it.
Note: this is mostly a take out place; food are well packaged and easy to take home or eat...

The moment you walk in and you notice the Bob Marley painting to your left, and how unrushed it feels, the chilled and intimate vibe is cemented. Take a seat at a table and the person behind the counter will drop by to take your order.
Menus are written on boards above and below the counter and these are prone to rotation. However, if you're lucky, get some ackee and mushroom complemented with quinoa. You'll have a green salad and a green chutney as part of your plate. I'd also recommend some stodge to fill you up; for me the fried plantain beat the dumpling. This was my first experience of Ital food and it was very tasty. It does come with a bit of kick in terms of spiciness, so do mention this when you're ordering if you like things on the mild side.
Expect to pay in the region of £10-15 without drinks. They weren't accepting cards when we went so keep some cash handy. The gentleman who served us was kind and advised on portions so do ask if you're unsure what things are.
Highly recommended as an integral part of the London...
