Cosy restaurant with yummy food. We went there last week. I am detailing everything here because I read former reviews with bad comments and our experience couldn't have been better.
The waitress greet me very nicely and kindly offered several tables I could freely choose. I loved one opposite a picture of some monks who transported me into a holiday mood instantly. I told her my partner was going to be 30 mins late and she said there was no problem. She handed me the menu and I ordered a drink.
She was attending other customers but found a time to look at me from time to time and her smile made me feel comfortable. As if I wasn't alone at all.
The story of the menu on the first page is worth a reading (I had some time too!) and it really helps to choose among the variety of Nepalese sections. The list of drinks was also nice. There was no wine by the glass but that was not a problem.
When my partner arrived she greet him as well and made him feel very comfortable. We started picking some starters and mains and she was very helpful in guiding us with the amounts of dishes we might need and also the type of food so we wouldn't have the same/similar between starters and mains. It's not one of those places you could feel they try to rip you off. In the end the dishes chosen were perfect.
She also helped us with our tolerance of spiciness. My partner went for hot chilly stuff and I was happy with the sweet type. She even suggested the bread that would work for our different dishes. It was like a wine taster but pairing starters, mains and bread. I never thought bread could be that important! but it is.
The place was very clean and net. They looked after the exotic music (with a nice soft volume) and they made sure we were enjoying the food. Because we were the last customers of that night we could engage in a conversation with her about the origins of the restaurant.
We entirely recommend it and we will...

Annapurna Nepalese Restaurant offers a fantastic introduction to traditional Nepalese cuisine, with rich flavours, generous portions, and a welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re a fan of momos (dumplings), aromatic curries, or perfectly spiced grilled meats, this place delivers authentic taste and great hospitality.
I tried the Chicken Momo, which were fresh, well-seasoned, and served with a delicious dipping sauce. The Lamb Gorkhali Curry was a standout—tender, packed with bold spices, and paired perfectly with fluffy rice and naan. I also had the Annapurna Special and another grilled chicken dish, though I can’t quite recall the name. However, both were full of flavour and cooked to perfection.
The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with traditional decor and a relaxed dining setup. From the moment we walked in, the staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and attentive. When we took our time deciding what to order, they patiently explained the dishes, shared recommendations, and even introduced us to elements of Nepalese culture, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
Since the restaurant was quiet at the time of our visit, it created a calm and easy-going ambiance, allowing us to fully enjoy the experience without feeling rushed.
Overall, Annapurna Nepalese Restaurant is a fantastic place for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Nepalese food in a cozy and welcoming environment. Highly recommended for momo lovers, curry enthusiasts, and anyone wanting to explore...
Read moreWe celebrated a birthday at lunchtime yesterday and every aspect of the meal was terrific. We are afficianados of Nepali food and on this occasion did not go for the lunchtime only street food menu but chose from the a la carte menu. Our family, aged 4-70s, not only revelled in personal starter favourites such as pakoras, samosas and utterly delicious mo-mos but the menu catered for everyone's tastes and needs when it came to main dishes. Because the food is freshly cooked the strength of spices can usually be altered to some extent and the vegan specials always appear in our orders even though none of us are vegans. New dishes are regularly introduced whilst old favourites remain on the menu. I would rather dine here, with its clean, modern decor, excellent food and service, where there is also a lovely outdoor, shaded courtyard at the back for warm, dry days, than fight for food in one of the overcrowded, noisy riverside pubs in this area. Raj has recently celebrated 10 years in East Sheen. That is testament in these tough times for the restaurant trade that he does...
