We went to this Annapurna restaurant at Chiswick for dine-in around 21:40, the whole restaurant was empty and the waiter at the door showed us a 4-seater table for two, after we sat down, another waiter walks in to serve our table (he said he was the manager of the restaurant) and gave us menu cards while taking the menu cards from the waiter, my friend said he is not hungry right now, he would like to order just drinks at first and asked the waiter for the drinks menu, I was starving so I took the food menu card, and then the waiter who pretended to be and said he was the manager of the restaurant, said to us If only one person eating and another person just having drinks then we have to move to a two-seater table, if the restaurant was busy we could have an understanding situation but the whole restaurant has been empty and there were no any reserved tables too, approximately out of 15 tables only three tables were taken and we were the fourth, then the waiter took back menu card from my friend and insisted us to move to a two-seater table, then I politely said all the tables are empty it is not good customer service after sitting down and asking us to move to another table, the waiter took back our menu cards and was not willing to listen, standing next to our table and forcing us to move to a two-seater table, it was so unprofessional, I requested to see the owner of the restaurant to explain the situation, waiter rudely replied he is not in today you can come tomorrow and speak to him, so he indirectly said to walk out if we don't wanna move to a two-seater table, so we left the restaurant, we were very disappointed and felt insulted by the customer service provided by Annapurna restaurant manager, however, if my friend is ordering only drinks he is still a customer of the restaurant, It was very disappointing and an insult to us, the manager should be in a place where he can resolve the customer's issue and not treating or judge a customer by their spending limits in a restaurant, based on the outcome from the restaurant owner.
I sent an email to owner of the restaurant, i haven’t received any response from them, it clearly looks like they don’t care about their Cusotmer...
Read moreMy friend and I had a dine card which CLEARLY showed 2 for 1 for this particular day. We were hesitant to go in and the ONLY reason We went was to make use of the offer. The service was super slow, the chutney / yogurt given with the starters was off and smelly. I asked for extra spices in my food and when it arrived it was bland with zero spice and I had to season it with salt. I asked for a straw 3 times before they gave me one and it wasn’t even a busy hour. Even though we were starving we were unable to finish off the food as it was tasteless so we asked for the bill and showed them the offer and they said it was fine however 5 mins later another gentleman came over with the bill which didn’t have the discount applied. When I challenged them they were rude and said it was for bookings only. So we asked them where it mentioned the booking and he rudely replied that he was telling us we needed to book in advance and that it isn’t written anywhere. So if anyone is looking to use their dine card here then please don’t bother ..... in fact don’t bother coming here. There are plenty of delicious Indian cuisines in west london. I am a frequent diner and I am appalled by the customer service I have experienced...
Read moreSounds like some well-meaning people like this restaurant, and it's not bad. But as someone who grew up in a very-Indian community, and who actively seeks out Indian restaurants in cities I visit, my advice to those who do the same and have limited meals in London is: Try somewhere else.
The decor, price, and staff were all lovely. But that's not the issue when picking an Indian restaurant. It's the taste.
I ordered 3 items as side dishes -- saag paneer, daal, and their cauliflower dish. All were fine, but none stood out. In contrast, I've been to Indian restaurants in the last couple weeks while traveling that made me say, "Wow! Now this is good!!" Not here.
That said, if you do go here, I recommend the Peshwari Naan. It was very tasty and pretty much made my meal. Whenever there was a mouthful of non-flavor, the Peshwari Naan would come to the rescue. :)
Again, not bad. It was perfectly pleasant. Just wish someone who is an Indian food aficionado had written a review of this place before I went...I would have...
