I visited this restaurant today with my friend as we had walked past previously and thought it looked nice, let's give it try. We arrived at 5pm today to be greeted by no one. There was a waitress who walked past who we later found out to be called Isabella, but said no word. She went and served someone and again walked past and no word. we then looked at the menu and she still hadn't come back to greet us at the door. We then sat down and for her and she again walked past us with no word to serve the previous people. After 10mins of waiting I then when to look for her and I could see she was serving a large table. I then when to the back to see if there were any other staff members. Someone who was in the kitchen said wait a minute. I then sat back down and waited for no one to come back. My friend then got up to find out what was going on. Couldn't see anyone behind the bar. A lady and her 2 kids then come in and she offered them a menu and my friend then told her we have been waiting outside with no greeting or anything. He then come back to the table and the waitress then storms over with attitude and says they have priority because one of the children had down syndrome. I wouldn't have mind if she said do we mind if we saw them first but it was the fact that she plain right blanked us and served everyone else and then use the fact that a child has a disability to not acknowledge someone even BEFORE they had come in the restaurant. I then said we have been waiting for 15 minutes and you have walked past us with no greeting or anything. She then said again that they have priority over translation. We then said to her that we have been waiting here longer and she was like I don't speak English. I then said do you want us to eat here because your customer service is not very good, she was like do you wanna eat here with attitude. I said when people arrive you should greet them as they are spending money here. She said she is the only person serving. I could see this conversation was going no where and she definitely was not bothered. So we go our belongings and left. I did advise her before leaving that her customer services needs to be worked on. I have worked in customer services for years and I would NEVER speak to someone who came to spend money in my establishment like that. Absolutely shocking. No apology or anything. I definitely do not wish to...
Read moreTerrible experience. I’m Brazilian and thought it was odd noticing how 90% of the clients there were Hispanic locals - it’s a flag for me because why aren’t other Brazilians going? Well I would soon find out. First I ordered a caipirinha and when I asked if they had some normal caipirinha fruits (like Lima) I was met with what I thought was a hint of rudeness so I let it go and just got a lime one - which was not great, with loads of sugar to mask the fact that whoever made it didn’t know how to handle the lime. Then I wanted to introduce my French friend to both the famous picanha and my favourite sausage from my state, called calabresa. But the only dish that came with both also included chicken (normally dry and bad in those places, as I would soon confirm). I asked if they could do it without chicken and they said they could but they would charge the same and could not just swap it for anything (like more sausages, more sides?). Again this was all done with an increasing hint of rudeness for what are normal questions in a restaurant - and I did not insist. But the really BAD part comes now. When the dish - that again I only ordered because of calabresa - arrived, there was this HORRIBLE cheap sausage that not in any way resembles anything that has ever been remotely close to calabresa - not in meat, colour, taste, fat amount, seasonings or anything. I very politely told that to the waiter who very rudely now said he would check with the chef to then come back and entirely unapologetically say this was “British calabresa not Brazilian calabresa” (obs - something that sounds as ridiculous as “British Bordeaux wine” at least should try to mimic the original which this didn’t) - it was just a horrible excuse to put any terribly cheap and bad sausage in the mix. No excuses, no apologies for the terrible food or the blatant lie on the menu. We paid an expensive price (over £45 per person) to eat just 1/3 of the meal. Never ever...
Read moreI just wanna frame this review!!! DO NOT RECOMMEND!
Unfortunately, the experience at the restaurant was extremely disappointing. We arrived excited to celebrate a birthday and my PhD achievement in a group of about six people. However, the reservations we had made were not properly organized, and we couldn't find the chosen table. That was already a concerning sign.
When we questioned the reservation error, we were treated hostilely by the owner and his staff. It is regrettable that, even as frequent customers who had confirmed the reservation over the phone, we were mistreated, and our friend was subjected to verbal abuse. Unfortunately, it seems that the restaurant has a misogynistic habit of disrespecting women.
As a professional in the field of Bioethics, I was shocked by the inappropriate, unethical, irresponsible, and extremely classless behavior of the establishment's owner. Additionally, the server with limited knowledge of English had difficulties communicating with half of the guests at the table and, instead of resolving the situation, went to the manager to spread baseless gossip about us.
We decided to proceed with the meal at the restaurant, but the experience remained unpleasant. There was even a substitution of sirloin for rump steak without prior notice, demonstrating the lack of attention and care from the staff. The atmosphere also revealed itself to be misogynistic and unethical, making it clear that this is a recurring behavioral pattern at the establishment.
Based on all of this, I definitely do not recommend this restaurant. The lack of professionalism, inappropriate treatment of women, and disrespectful atmosphere make it a place I would not return to. To show our dissatisfaction with the staff's behavior, we decided to leave a generous tip to demonstrate our indifference. In the end, pity was the only thing we...
