O Campino Restaurant — Restaurant in London

I’m Portuguese and me and friends decided to watch the last Portugal’s EURO match at Campino. We were a quite large group on top floor and the ambience was insanely good, bearing in mind that was other Portuguese people there celebrating our nation.

The waitress, lovely and simple lady, was the only one taking orders, mentioned by her. She was extremely busy and exhausted and they certainly knew it how busy the place would be. She also mentioned there was only one chef to cook for everyone and let us know in advance it would take a very long while to have the dish done.

The food was raw, which could be dangerous specially with seafood, as my dish. The potatoes were not properly cooked.

I understand they were extremely short staffed, my question is “why accepting bookings if there wouldn’t be able to serve everyone in a fairly decent way”?! Is this again the Portuguese mentality of the restaurant’s owner?!

At the end, everyone paid separately and we were almost forced to pay the service charge; which I was happy to pay due to the hard job the staff had. Is that tip going to the staff or the boss? As everyone paid with card.

Overall 1⭐️ for the food, 2⭐️ in total due to the waitress and chef...

We were a group of approximately 17 people who went out for dinner yesterday to watch the Euro match between Portugal and France. Terrible service because, unfortunately, there was only one staff member to take orders and serve on that floor. They kept accepting new tables without the capacity to manage them. It was crowded, and I received my drink about 40 minutes after ordering and the food 1 hour or more later. The staff member kept complaining, understandably, but the customer shouldn't have to hear that. The manager was nowhere to be seen! The food came mostly raw!!! I do not recommend this restaurant at all, especially on days when it's expected to be very busy! Since it was a day when a full house was expected, there should have been better organization. At the end, we went downstairs to the bar to pay and had to wait another 20/30 minutes to settle the bill! When splitting the bill, the staff member added a 12% tip to each person's bill when obviously it should be done on the total bill IF THE CUSTOMER WANTS, but they didn't even ask. I was seeking to have a good Francesinha and this restaurant did not disappoint! Although it wasn't written in the menu, I was able to have one for £14. The Francesinha sauce was the right level of spiciness / hot (bristish mild - level of katsu curry or a bit less), so if you like it spicy ask to be spicier - I'm sure they will be able to sort it. Their Francesinha can truly compete with the ones served in Porto. So if u miss the dish, they are up to the challenge.

Also had half liter of house red wine and it was great - forgot to ask which one was - the restaurant also has some good bottles at reasonable prices, such as Papa Figos. Others seemed a bit overpriced (Monte Velho).
