I came here during the weekend with a good friend of mine who recommended this place as a lunch spot. They said their go to would be the tuna mayo & cucumber and thus I wanted to try it out for myself. I was so amazed by it that I knew I had to come back and order this again and today was my chance.
They have a variety of fillings to choose from and different bagel buns, youâll be spoiled with choice. The tuna mayo & cucumber on a wheat bun was great. Their fillings are generous and bursting with flavour. Every bagel you order, it comes with a side salad which is quite generous. Dressing on the salad is lovely, tangy and slightly acidic which is nice. The only reason this review would be bunked down to a 4 star is because of the ÂŁ2.13 difference between take out and eat in which I found a bit excessive of them to charge this big of a difference. Besides that, price of a bagel is what youâd expect if Iâm comparing this to the infamous local bagel shop I went to not long ago.
Service is prompt and youâll get your order relatively quickly. If youâre a bagel fan, then this place is a go to. If Iâm feeling peckish for a bagel, this would be my...
Read moreLoved the atmosphere and the bagel itself, probably some of the best bagels I've ever tried. Perfectly chewy and fluffy. The vegan cream cheese bagel was really good but the vegan schnitzel really wasn't good. I think they had utilised some sort of vegetable in it but when I first got it it was cold and the texture was mushy, with an overpowering earthy flavour. I then told a lady who works here that it was cold, and she very kindly asked to make a new one. She gave me the new one and whilst it wasn't cold, it had the same mushy texture and the flavour was off. Definitely missed the mark. I know this branch is new and still has time to establish itself, but I do think the schnitzel recipe needs tweaking. The lady did kindly say that I can tell her if I'm not satisfied again, but after telling her that the first one was cold, I didn't want to go back and tell her again. Overall a good experience and I would eat here again even though I won't be getting the vegan...
Read moreI had the chicken schnitzel bagel but was not that impressed. The bread is nice, tastes fresh. But the filling was a bit disappointing. The schnitzel had a lot of breading and not much chicken, kind of what you'd expect from a fast food place. There was one slice of tomato and about 3 shreds of lettuce. I don't usually expect a lot but if you ask for over £7 for a bagel, I would expect better than what I got. I think people overhyped this place a lot.
EDIT: I gave this another try and had the salt beef bagel. Honestly, I still have no idea what the fascination is about. The bread was again quite nice but I felt like that's all I could taste. There was a fair amount of salt beef but it had almost no taste to it. Bread should not overpower the filling yet that's what happened. Couple of gherkin slices were in there which were fine. This cost over ÂŁ8 so I really cannot recommend this. Maybe just buy some plain bagels and add your...
