A large group of us dined here and unfortunately didn't have a brilliant experience. Some of the staff were friendly and warm, but others were clearly irritated by our presence. I don't feel we were overly loud or boisterous, but I can understand that large groups are more difficult to manage in a restaurant of this size and do change the ambience. Either way, it's difficult not to feel disappointed to be unwelcome, especially when you are paying hundreds of pounds to be there. Perhaps it might be worth the restaurant limiting group bookings to six people to avoid this? There was also a misunderstanding about allergens in the meal, which resulted in two of the party being unwell. To give the restaurant credit, they didn't charge us for the two meals where the miscommunication occurred. However, it was their attitude that was disappointing. If you have a food allergy, it's very difficult to go to a restaurant where you are treated as an inconvenience or as if you're being deliberately difficult. This sort of experience affects your confidence to eat out. Food allergies are not lifestyle choices, they can be serious conditions which are stressful to manage. If you're in a small group with no dietary requirements, I think you'd probably have a lovely meal here. The food is tasty, plentiful and the ambience is lively (bear in mind that the music is so loud that conversations can be challenging). I would not recommend it for larger groups, people who want a more quiet atmosphere or anyone with food allergies or intolerances. I had planned to visit this restaurant again later in August with another group, but I will be suggesting we book...
Read moreFinally booked a table at Bambi after eyeing their menu up from Cardiff, Wales, for months. We started with the ricotta and goats curd and bread and I’ll probably think of it most nights before I fall asleep from now on. You know when you start a dining experience with a small plate that good you’re in for a ride. The next dishes were beyond incredible. The mushroom risotto was possibly one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. I’m writing this review on my national express journey home and I could cry thinking about how far I’ll be from it. I ride hard for tender stem broccoli anyway but I’ve never had such a scrumptious little tree in my life. I don’t know what you guys did to it but kudos to whenever came up with that. We were also wonderfully taken care of by a 10/10 waitress called Orell (I’m sorry if I spelled that wrong, I asked after a few margaritas which were also great). She walked us through the menu and made really fitting recommendations, like ordering two deserts. Genius. We had the chocolate mouse with caramel and orange granola, which made myself and my partner go non verbal. She also boxed up a basque cheesecake to take back to our hotel which is the most remarkable desert I’ve ever eaten. She deserves a bonus and a forehead kiss. Overall a great experience and I hope between now and whenever I return, the menu doesn’t...
Read moreUpdate: Extremely disappointed as the GM Sam said he had proceed the refund due to the food poison incident but never receive the refund as promised. It is clear that while you claim to care about your customers, your actions are totally different. We paid for the transport to A&E and the medication due to this incident. We suffered for over a week of food poison symptoms and still facing health issue because of their oyster. Worst customer service ever experienced in London. This will be reported to the media! Don't even bother coming to this restaurant.
We had food poison from the oyster and it was so bad that both of us have to go to the hospital. It seems like other people also experience food poison from it. This should be report to the local board of health as it is not acceptable to sell those when other customer already raise the same issue! Cocktail taste weird, the fish is too salty. Service is also below average, the staff just put down the bill when we haven't finish our main and feel like they want us to leave...
