Basilico Islington — Restaurant in London

9:20pm - I ordered a 'medium' pizza. The starting price was £15 on Devlieroo but with extra charges etc somehow i got to nearly £30 - so i added a tab of ice cream not to get charged £7 for missing the minimum order. and at least get something more in the bag. Delivery took 50 over minutes. It's Saturday, they must be busy, not a big deal. I did receive a small pizza box though, with a tiny pizza inside that ultimately cost me £28 in total.

When I phoned the shop, no apologies, I was quickly dismissed with a new 'medium' pizza on the way. 11:10pm a knock at the door and another tiny pizza delivered.

Dinner is definitely ruined.

Note to the kitchen: Every time I had your pizza I ended waking up in the middle of the night badly thirsty for water which does not go away even after drinking 1.5lt of water. You might want to reconsider the salt in the pizza dough.

The bitter end: Not worth the wait..definitely not worth the money. Basilico (in general) used to be a great place to order pizza, still expensive but worth it. Not anymore. I will not order from them again as in my experience this is a chain issue not...

One of the worse experiences I've ever had with a restaurant. Tried ordering from Deliveroo at first. It was pouring that day and my pizza arrived completely soaked in water, the box was catastrophic and the pizza looked like a wet mess. Didn't accept it. One month later I thought to myself "maybe it was bad luck, both for myself and the restaurant, let me give these guys another chance". Oh boy, this was a terrible mistake. I did place an order from uber eats this time. Two hours later I'm calling the restaurant to check why my pizza hasn't arrived yet. Basically their response was like this "the delivery guy came by your house, you weren't there, also called you and your phone wasn't working". What a bunch of jokers honestly. This is the reason they use their own delivery guys. So they can not be tracked or traced whether they come by your house or not. 100% fishy restaurant. 2/2 horrendous experiences with this restaurant. I don't even wanna see their name popping up on my recommended restaurants...

I've been waiting 1 hour and 45 mins for a pizza that still hasn't arrived. When i called 30 mintues ago, they didn't say sorry, they just said that they were having some problems and they were late. They also assured me the pizza was "on its way out the door". 30 minutes more has passed and still no pizza, it's worth noting I only live 15 minutes away... I just called back again - once again they didn't come up with any real excuse, but said they would call the delivery man to check. When they did eventually call back they said the pizza would arrive in 2 minutes, that was 10 minutes ago. So basically I can't even tell you what the pizza tastes like - probably cold, overpriced and way overdue. Apparently we can have 50% off next time! Yippee! That's such good news when we haven't even received the pizza we already paid £30 for. Probably should give these...
