Blinding restaurant!
Sure, there are many curry houses in Crouch end and you'll get a decent curry in all of them (if you know what to order) but this is easily my current favourite.
They do tandoori fish. Fish is a Bangladeshi speciality but is very hard to find; even if you see it on a menu it is seldom available.
Vegetable Rogan was awesome. VERY tasty. They do tandoori vegetables (I don't know how) which are ace and a good portion. Prawn Madras tasty and spicy. The Mrs had Tandoori Lamb chops today and they were plentiful and delicious. She also said theirs was the best mango lassi she'd had (and she's very fussy). The place is clean and the service excellent. They offer discount for eating-in which I haven't seen elsewhere.
Basically, the food is great and fresh-tasting. And they have excellent lager on tap. Clean loos with nice coconut soap.
I try to order different dishes instead of sticking to ones I already know are amazing and the mixed seafood starter didn't really work, but it was ok.
Naans are light and fluffy and served cut into four and served stacked-up.
With the discount for eating in and the fresh lager on tap, I'd try the restaurant rather than just a take-away. It's very clean and they make every effort -warmed plates, for example.
Haven't tried any puddings. Not even sure if...
Read moreYou can do a lot worse than Bengal Tandoori. I've flirted with other local curry houses but have settled here. For vegan food I do abscond to Healthy Wealthy occasionally.
Price Vs quality is good.
I'm still discovering new decent menu choices.
Vegetable baigun labra is outstanding if you want a veg and lentil dish in one and like aubergine.
Veg Rogan is also a cracker.
Some dishes, like Pathia come with rice included which is super good value.
Vegetable dome dish I avoided for ages as it sounded boring but is also good (from what I remember).
Oh, and they do vegetable shashlik which is like tandooried veg. Amazing.
Chaat starter is also a winner.
My partner, Lady Portions is less adventurous but has always been happy with her chicken tikka biryani or tandoori chicken.
Naans are good. Try onion, chili or garlic for a change. Seem better when sitting in as they're hot straight outta the tandoor.
Sadly, I don't think they do puddings.
I call directly for delivery as I can't get on with those...
Read moreThe food were amazing and the staffs also very friendly. We went here for the first time a few weeks ago on late Wednesday evening. We had the chef special dishes and it was super delish! I personally really liked the mince meat rice (I forgot the name) and the naan bread with coconut stuffing, and all the main dishes we have ordered, which again I don't remember the name. 😅 Well, one thing for sure the chef special I ordered last time was a lamb dish and the one I had today was the king prawn. So, today we went back to the restaurant at around 22:45 to have their 4 course for £10 deals, but unfortunately they have closed for eat it. However, the staff was very friendly that letting us having these dishes to go just for a small additional amount for the food containers. When the food was ready, another good surprise that they gave us an extra naan bread! Thank you! 😍 Moreover, our take-away food was apparently also coming with a salad with yummy dressing. My tummy was fully satisfied! Keep up...
